Yakubu is ‘bargain of season’

STEVE Kean believes only Demba Ba can rival Yakubu as the Premier League’s bargain of the season – insisting that the Blackburn Rovers striker must now be worth close to £10m.

Yakubu needed only 15 minutes to score on his return from suspension on Saturday and help Rovers to a crucial 3-2 win over relegation rivals QPR.

Rovers snapped up the 29-year-old for only £1.5m from Everton in August but the forward has now netted 14 times for his new club this season.

And Kean believes that puts Yakubu alongside Ba, who has stolen the headlines by scoring 17 goals for Newcastle since joining the Magpies on a free transfer, as the best buy of the season.

“I think it’s probably been the Yak and Demba Ba,” the Rovers boss said.

“When you add together what those two have cost in comparison to some other strikers, then they have been the bargains of the season.

“Both have done really well. The mark of a goalscorer is his goal ratio, it’s not really how many games but how many chances does he get to score goals?

“If you look back at the goals the Yak’s scored this season, he’s not missed too many.

“He’s missed a few but normally when he gets a chance he hits the target.

“His chances to goal ratio would be right amongst the best.

“I would certainly think for him and Demba Ba it would be very hard to get change out of tens of millions.

“That’s what people who put the ball in the back of the net cost.”

Rovers signed Yakubu on a contract that will last until the summer of 2014, putting them in a strong position to bat away advances when clubs made their interest in the striker known in January.

QPR were among those clubs, although Yakubu has since revealed that he had no desire to leave Ewood Park in any case.

“There was absolutely no chance of us letting him go,” Kean said.

“There was interest, interest from some very big clubs, but the Yak’s happy to get his head down here.

“I think he’s been exceptional since he’s been here. We showed faith in bringing him here and he’s led the line really well.

“He’ll go on to be a great player for us for years to come.

“I don’t know why it didn’t work out for him at Everton.

“What we’ve done is given him the opportunity to start games and get back into the Premier League, and he’s more than showed he’s capable of playing week in week out.

“I think you’ve got to think about what his attributes are and we just like to keep him the width of the box and get other people to do a little bit of the chasing in the wider areas.

“If you can get quality service into him, there’s no better finisher.”

David Dunn missed Saturday’s game with a calf problem and Junior Hoilett limped off early in the second half, but Kean expects neither injury to prove serious.

“David failed a fitness test on Friday before training where he was feeling a little tug at the side of his calf,” he said.

“Junior had a kick in the calf, so it’s not a muscle tear, it’s just a dead calf.”

Jason Lowe, however, will be suspended for Rovers’ trip to Manchester City game on February 25 and the home match against Aston Villa a week later after picking up his 10th booking of the season.

Here's an odd fact. Out of the top 5 only one club has scored more goals than Rovers. Says a lot for the defense, shambolic. All because Venky's wanted entertaining football, regardless. Under big Sam it was about survival but I guess they assumed that was a formality.

Yes the 'Yak' was a real bargain unlike all the other 'failures' that Kean has bought - unfortunately for all the goals that the 'Yak' has scored we have gained no benefit with 'leaky' defence being all over the place and Kean's tactics in this area of play being abysmal!!!!!
On the 'Bargain' front we did'nt get one when 'Kean' popped up as Manager - no we got a 'BandM' 'bargain basement 'buy' which lasted a couple of matches before a 'complete breakdown' in every sense of the word and no refund!!!!!
OUT WITH KEAN AND OUT WITH THE VENKYS

Credit where it's due, Yak has been a revelation, I'm sure he's as amazed by it all as anybody. But we do need and have needed for some time,to stop a leaky defence with schoolboy errors, Brad orr made a few game losing mistakes.

Where would we be without him?
The last game of last season highlighted our problems why have they never been addressed by our so called coaching staff?
Is it down to scoring more than the opposition scores to gain 3 points can we not just score a couple of goals maintain the pressure and win 2-0 ? Why can Kean not sort this out even with the mighty Samba we still
look dodgy so are all our defenders crap or is it team organisation thats at fault?

These are all very "positive" stories this weekend and quite rightly Yakubu should be praised for his contribution this season but surely the LT has to ask more questions rather than just print the party line. For example at the weekend "Kean hails Blackburn Rovers' first half display" what about the second half? When an injured Junior Hoilett was replaced by a 17 year old full back (from his reserve/academy performances a very good one) played on the right of midfield. Taiwo of QPR finally became free to bomb forward and expose Bradley Orr who in the first half was untroubled.

The strange decision to replace Formica with Modeste, I have no problem with bringing on an additional forward but surely one more up to speed with the PL. The bench contained Vukcevic, Petrovic and Goodwillie all Kean signings yet none of them were good enough to make the field of play. Are these questions being asked by journalists?

The first half showed exactly why Rovers can and should be able to stay in the league, the second half shows the reasons why we could be relegated while this man is in control of the team. All I can hope since he doesnt have the honour to resign is that the players keep us up despite him.

Credit for the Yak, but i think the Yak is simply doing what he has always done.

It`s not like Kean has transformed him into a highly mobile forward, so what is he claiming that his powers of motivation have made the difference? if so can he also have a motivational word with his defenders?

On an other point, what the hell was he thinking with the 1st substitution on Saturday, accept that Jr was injured but why put a very inexperienced young player who has played at left back a couple of times this season on as a right winger? it meant we had to shuffle the balance of the team around and handed the initiative to QPR. Just another example of Kean thinking he`s a tactical genius, and getting it so very wrong.

Enjoy the valuable win for gods sake!

It was an absolutely critical match for us to win if we are to stand any chance of staying-up. And we won it!

A lot of posters on here last week were saying how good QPR are now that Hughes is there and how now they spent money on decent players in January that they are guaranteed survival....well we beat the super R's and sent Hughes back down south with nothing.

We are not in the bottom group of teams fighting for survival for nothing, we are having a terrible season due to so many reasons all of which have been mentioned so many times before that I wont mention them here.

We are not a great team, we have a different defensive line-up every week and we are struggling for survival so to play well even in just one half of the game AND score three goals without reply is a pretty impressive display for any team in this position.

Yes QPR came out and played better the second half but isn't that what you would expect any team of Hughes to do? Did anyone expect us to score another three in the second half?

And yes QPR scored two goals (one very late on and too late to threaten the result) that took the edge off the scoreline a little, but we beat a fellow struggler and kept them deep in the relegation mix and gave ourselves another small lifeline towards the possibility of safety.

It was a crucial and oh so very important win and three points for us that will be so important to us by the end of the season.
Well done the lads! Allez les Bleus.

Reason, god awful subs by Kean.

but 3 points are points, we wont get any v City no matter how we play, but if we play like we did in the first half we have a chance against Villa.

We are enjoying the win French Rover,we would enjoy the game more if Mr Tinker had,nt messed about with the formation and almost cost us valuable points. After the mauling last week our superior goal difference was wiped out so a clean sheet would have helped build it back again come the end of the season it might just be our savior.

On Saturday I was more happy than anyone, even with the nervy finish. One of the (dis)advantages of comments being suspended over the weekend is that we can now look back in hindsight and be even more negative than usual!

The most positive thing to come out of the weekend is that despite having a good manager QPR still have some poor players. Dont worry we will survive when Kean gets his experienced defenders back Nelsen, Samba and Salgado wasn't it?

But yes Allez les Bleus, we can stay up! Believe!

Yak has been a revelation for Rovers and Dann has, in my opinion, played to the value we paid for him. Credit for those, but what about all the rest?

The few positive results we've managed this season really show our potential with the core set of players we have. It shows where we ought to be under the right management and investment.

As Andy Cryer has been saying on Twitter, the likes of Robinson, Samba, Olsson, N'Zonzi, Hoilett and Yak would all warrant a place in most of the teams around us. I'd probably add Peds and Givet (at CB) to that list too. Then there's the potential of Lowe and Hanley.

I think the best we can hope for next weekend is that other teams around us don't pick up points.

There was some incredibly poor finishing from QPR in the game, and defensivley again we were incredibly poor. I still have no idea what Kean does on the training ground week in week out, to create a team that is consistently letting in 2-3 goals a game.

A manager who was to completely ignore the defence and just let the players play would have a better defensive team than Kean does.

So, that's Yak gone pre season with an offer/bid of around £7 million ?

If only we were journalists who could ask these insightful questions. I understand a defensive change but to replace a right midfielder with a full back on 46 minutes when we have Rochina and Vukcevic who have played in that position previously on the bench is just confusing. Its sad because I really rate Henley as a full back. A while ago (around November) Steve Kean told us that we were near the top of the "Half Time League" maybe we would be further up the Premier League without bizarre substitutions or thinking the game is won at half time?

I don't doubt that Kean is a numpty but to be fair to some of his signings, they aren't half as bad as people are making out.

Petrovic has begun to put in some good performances recently and Formica is starting to get his feet in the premier league.

Rochina has looked good when he's actually been allowed to play and Goodwillie has scored 4 in 8 starts (in all competitions).

There have been some awful signings as well such as Ribeiro, Anderson and Vukcevic and some others under par like Dann but his transfer record isn't terrible.

It's his inexplicable decision making at playing certain players over others, and subbing some of our best performers off that is truly shocking.

Some good comments on here. The first half demonstrated that we are good enough to stay in this league, the second half demonstrated the following:

1. We should be thankful that Hoilett is still here. We have no-one else in the squad that can occupy full backs like him.

2. The squad is painfully thin

3. We won't stay up if yakubu gets injured

4. Steve Kean is a liability at half time.

The last comment is the most important. I can't remember how many games I've seen where we don't come out for the second half. Kean is seemingly unable to set up a team when they are leading a game. We always revert to ultra defensive, which just piles pressure on whichever defenders we manage to get fit / convince to play that particular week. The substitution of Henley for Hoilett was astonishingly bad. I actually thought it was a decent move at the time, as I expected him to replace Ollson at full back, allowing him to move to left wing and pedersen across. I was amazed when he jogged up to right wing! It left us with a left winger with no pace, and a right winger wanting to turn inside every time. In short, it completely handed the initiative to QPR. To the compound the issue by weakening the midfield by sticking on Modest was a disgrace. What on earth have we bought Rochina and Vuckevic for?

Had they scored 5 minutes earlier, or injury time been any longer, it would have been a draw for us at best. It's unnaceptable to have to score three goals every game to get a result. if we don't sort it, we WILL go down.

Finally, Pedersen was truly awful and I felt it was actually cruel to keep him on. He never crosses the half way line, his corners are awful and he's way too slow.

Yes we won, which was the main thing, but it was despite Steve Kean, not because of him. Let's remember how fortunate the 3rd goal was, and how we would have felt had Robinson let BOTH Yakubu and N'Zonzi's shots in. If there was ever evidence that Steve Kean is out of place in the premiership, the 2nd half 'performance' laid any doubts to rest.

Kean made us into a 9-man team with his substitutions. Can anyone explain the Henley substitution?

This substitution was simply to protect what rovers already had, a three goal lead. Kean has done this before and it bachfired more than once and nearly did this time, he dosn't seem to learn from his mistakes, he should have continued with an attacking line up in the second half, as they say the best form of defence is attack.
Thanks for the reply davemal, but whilst the idea is sound, Kean's choices weren't.
*
Henley contributed nothing - which I won't dis him for too much because he is a left-back with potential.
*
Henley was right in front of me and I squirmed every minute he and Modeste were on. Our football in the 2nd half was almost unwatchable.
Henley is a right sided player that can play at left back.

All that mattered at the weekend was 3 points so well done lads, other results were good as well,Time for Samba to wise up and play, defensively its a shambles every week, Black and Kean should be working on it on training the next fortnight non stop, its not just the back 4 its how rovers defend as a unit, pedersen is slowing down but he is always among our hardest working players, his stats for distances covered are always really high.anything from city a bonus, must win most of our home games to stay up.art et labore. feed the yak

Sorry Frenchie but for a long time now I've come to the conclusion that we have become Victor Meldrew FC. Yet more lies and deceit, which is undermining those fans who choose to protest by staying away.

For a manager buying a player to not know the reason why he is not playingwith his current club is absolute nonsense. Any Everton fan will tell you that The Yak was considered lazy and unfit and consequently fell out with his manager. The truth is in todays game the poacher is back and no longer judged entirely by his workrate but on goals scored. For Kean to admit his ignorance when buying sums him up. We must keep fingers crossed that he remains fit. As for a rabbits foot it did not help the poor beast much.

If his performances were up to scratch for Rovers, he wouldn't have got any stick from anyone in the first place.

Furthermore, his post-transfer comments were directed towards the club as a whole - how it's run and how they dealt with him personally, not the fans.

The biggest mistake was taking off Formica who I thought had one of his better games,to go two up front at that stage was suicidal.Lowe had taken care of barton all match and this allowed us for once to control mid field Nzonzi was outstanding. It seems to pass Kean by that to have a good defence you must control midfield.
Pedersen was once more lacking in guile and effort.

Crowd given for Newcastle game was 20,817. Newcastle brought about 4,000 (I'd have guessed) against QPR's 1,500 (tops). There were far more gaps in the home section V QPR (in particular Blackburn End) than there were against Newcastle.

Not sure what the implications of overstating your crowd is legally. I know if you understate it, then you're probably robbing the taxman!

This may be far fetched but so is a lot of what comes out of Ewood at the minute.

We all know that certain players haven't been played this season, despit being fit and raring to go. The reasons given have been that 1-2 more games and a clause kicks in that means that a years extension or more money is paid to the player etc. I refer to Solgado, Roberts, Nelson and so on.

Let's assume that every player Kean has signed gets paid based on appearances both in terms of starting or comming on as sub, hence he holds players back who are on the bench, or pust players on based on what it will cost the club by way of wages and fees. Maybe this is the answer to the strange decisions he constantly makes, or perhaps he is just constantly cr*p.

I heard from a ticket office source if they did not count the ST's who did not actually turn up then the true gate was sub 16,000 or only approx 14,000 home fans as in recent home games. Thats 10,000 down on 2 years ago and any ST you chat too seems to say they are not renewing or considering it if Kean and / or Venkys are still here.

B End - 3,000
JW stand - 5,000
R/Side - 1,000

31,000 - 15,000 = 16,000.

Anyone booing Rovers should be in the Darwen End with the away supporters. Re Andrews, he could have done a job for us on Saturday but he was forced out by mindless supporters and a manager that would not back his judgement. Hodgeson and Allardyce believe him good enough.

I would add Keith Andrews and Ryan Nelsen... Oh we forced them out.
Our own fans forced Andrews out, good move that lads.
I don't really see how Andrews showed any worth on the pitch, to be honest. I'm a little angry he went for nothing as he did show some worth in the Championship.

If his performances were up to scratch for Rovers, he wouldn't have got any stick from anyone in the first place.

Furthermore, his post-transfer comments were directed towards the club as a whole - how it's run and how they dealt with him personally, not the fans.

I don't understand the Nelson business though. He was important on and off the pitch.

It wasn't too long ago Kean said he needed Nelson back to partner Samba.

Just another example of puppeteering, tbh.
As I have said before, I was at Wigan away last season and when Andrews was announced as one of the subs he was roundly booed by many of our so called supporters. How he performed at all was a mystery. Pedersen and others have suffered the same fete. Our supporters baffle me sometimes. It shows when we get behind the team we can make a difference.

On Saturday we had only been singing, 'Feed the Yak' for a minute or so and he scored. Quality.
I don't agree with players being boo'd because I don't believe it helps, but it's a supporters right to show their dissatisfaction just as an audience will boo a poor theatre performance or comedian etc.

And again, if he had shown his worth of salt he would not be boo'd in the first place. As most players in most teams aren't.

Arshavin was boo'd last week. Villa also boo'd their players last week. Wolves fans have boo'd all season. Newcastle boo'd their losing season. Bolton are boo'd constantly. It's part of the game.

If you really think it affects a players performance then that player isn't strong enough to be a professional footballer in the first place.

Sorry Frenchie but for a long time now I've come to the conclusion that we have become Victor Meldrew FC. Our lot seem to like nohing more than to moan and slate our own club, no matter of the result. The only difference now between a win and a loss is we get more moaners posting after defeat than if we win. They like nothing more than slagging the club and seem to live for it. Such a shame that Venky's have brought us to this, thats why I stopped coming on for a while because they were driving me nuts with as much baroonary as Venky's and Kean put together.

Whilst some fans negativity may reflect that of "Dingles" to you, your unjustified positivity may sound uncannily like Steve Kean to others.

Implying that Blackburn fans are not supporting the best interests of their own football club is disgusting. And you talk of others causing divisions....

Anyway, if we need someone to put a positive spin on the holocaust we'll give you a call.

you don't call him parasite scum mate, that is completely irrational. Good football manager he is not but nor is he parasite scum. And if you think bringing in Neil Warnock will give us a much better chance of winning matches you're on your way to being as clueless as Venkys.

Nothing irrational or untrue about the description referring to kean as parasitic scum. A parasite lives by taking from a host, in this case kean (parasite) Rovers (host), another term for host is victim. Kean wallows in the self-deluded glow of being in the top flight of football. he blames everyone for his faults and mistakes, except himself
And on your second point ,do you honestly think warnock would do worse than kean has. I'm no fan of warnock, but at least he knows about football management. There has been precious little honesty, with local mp's focussing on kean bad-mouthing supporters. Anderson has tried to besmirch the name of fans by making shrouded allegations on a tv interview, and it must be him behind the ridiculous situation of the weekly suppression of freedom of speech on this site. The LT has not even offered a rationale for this action or a statement justifying the need. Nothing is put on the forum on a weekend that different to postings during the rest of the week, therefore it has to be a pathetic attempt at flexing muscles and in actuality worsening the situation between long standing genuine supporters of the club, or,( because of there 'don't give a ****' attitude) the present owners.
I have just read about Wolves sacking there manager.... perhaps the venkys think that a manager is for life not just christmas!!!!

So the situation is dire, we went through the transfer window with everyone saying Nzonzi, Samba Dann Givet and hoilett were going to be sold to pay off a massive overdraft, they said players were not going to be payed, they said we needed to appoint Mark hughes now if there was any chance of avoiding relegation. And the shitstirrers among you now having to face the reality of not selling any of your best players, sorry I forgot to mention Formica, and having a team managed by Kean turning over a very disrespectful Mark Hughes after signing his own players, you now come on here after a massive six pointer success and accuse me of being over positive whilst its deemed okay to act more like an away supporter, bizzarre.
I give up there are some real thick f@ckers in the world but you are right at the pinnacle. Just keep stirring the sh1t if thats where you want to reside.
So its okay for everyone to stir more shster but not okay to support your team. I give up its like trying to educate a shoe. It may snow again, Venky's Kean out. Are you that dim not to understand that Kean aint going unless we go down and Venky's have no interest in selling?
Boring.

Unless the said MP is going to buy it back then he can speak as strongly as he likes, what exactly does that mean, speak very strongly? does he do a 300lb bench press while he is giving his opininion? No he just waffles on and on whilst there was about 3 members in the house and 2 of them were asleep. The only one who picked up on what he said was the trancsriber, did you see it on TV? No so pointless poilitical point scoring for his own constituency. He should stick to trying to save that dog breed of his and he can squat 500lb and talk about that all day long or even about dog fouling in pendle. But football, no don't think so. I have in the past been the first in the past to criticise negative comments, notably about Allerdyce and the early call for Keans departure……

Although we won on Saturday, anyone who went to that match would probably say that the dire 2nd half was down to Kean…. This is the first time that it has been so stark, due to the in match changes. Unless you are there watching the reaction and interaction of the players on and off the ball, it is impossible to make this judgement. If you don’t like others views make sure you are better informed than them, having not attended the game it is difficult to understand how you could be.

As for the MP, he has got documented and published, using his parliamentary privilege, the grievances of the Rovers support on an international stage. Given our dire situation this is a good thing, any pressure that can be placed on those responsible to sort it out, or even get out, is more than welcome in my view and I’m sure this is the view of the majority.

Keans tenure has been dire, likewise so has venky's but FFS man when we win a game try and enjoy it, there may not be too many more.

I admit Kean did nearly screw it up, and tried his lets defend now that we are in front suicide but sorry if I disappoint you when I enjoy the 3 points and fail to acknowledge an Mp whose main cause to champion is dog breeding and dog turd scooping, I suppose it could come in handy when dealing with Rovers management team though, I may have to think about it.

Roll on Man City away
I totally agree. The fact that QPR came back into the game on Saturday was was not down to Rovers' 'nerves', as some have suggested. It was purely down to Kean's ****-eyed substitution. Formica was having his best game yet for Rovers and taking him off made no sense. It ruined all the good work of earlier in the game. Why not replace Pedersen, who was relatively ineffective? The team does well DESPITE Kean, not because of him.

We need an in form striker as we have to score at least 3 goals to win a game. Since the win on the last day of the season - 3-2 - havent we won with at least 3 goals? Ridiculous. Our goals difference will take a massive hit against City.

Hello Ms Desia - whats the weather like in Pune?

Get a grip Morst, its becoming almost unbearable not being able to celebrate a win or you get labelled by numpties like yourself. Its a bit icy, Kean Venky out, we don't sell as many sausages as we used to, Kean Venky out, My lips are a bit dry, Kean venkys out, like a broken record, Kean Venky out, how about STFU you are boring the arse off me. You're starting to sound like a dingle in disguise.
OK MS Desia - ignore the truth spoken in the House of Commons last week and bury your chicken head in the sand. Nelsen did not play for Spurs on Sat did he not in your dream world?

As for any rovers fan on here suggesting anyone unhappy with Kean (Who would not be with such a numpty?) is a Dingle only serves to ensure you are seen as a complete fool madam!

What would the Romans think...
Anyone booing Rovers should be in the Darwen End with the away supporters. Re Andrews, he could have done a job for us on Saturday but he was forced out by mindless supporters and a manager that would not back his judgement. Hodgeson and Allardyce believe him good enough.
For the 3rd time, if he was "doing a job" for the Rovers, he would not have been boo'd.

We did perfectly well without him on Saturday, I have no idea who you think he should have played instead of.

Bizarre comments.
For the third time SUPPORT THE TEAM. It worked on Saturday. There is no room for the boo boys. If and when a player has a bad game offer support not boos. We can't afford any more players to be forced out.

And, in cas you hadn't realised booing the manager is pointless too.

Sick and tired of all the, they promised us beckham and Ronaldinho boll@x it seems pretty obvious to me that it aint happening so why keep bringing it up? They have significantly reduced the wage bill, by removing non functioning high earners and reduced the average age of the team, they have replaced a high earning manager with one on lower wages also. Will it work? who knows but it looks like they are trying to run it like a business. Reducing costs and making it self viable. Would you sooner they be like Bolton in 100 million pounds worth of debt only to finish in the bottom 3?
The problem is fans don't see the bigger picture, they want 10 million pound signings and to chant loads and loads of money, but it aint going to happen. So does this MP stand up and say he wants venky's to sell to an oil sheikh with bottomless pockets? and to be honest with you I think the fans buyout is pie in the sky. Can you afford to give up just 10,000 to make it happen, a director of a large company might well think its a great idea, but then again he has spare 10,000 lying around all over the place. Do you? I may annoy the living sh1t out of everyone but I'm a realist and not a fantasist like half of you guys. They aint sacking Kean and they aint selling us either not even if there was a second coming.

But as andrews is now an x rovers player he will get treated as any other x rovers player, just like Nelsen is now an x Rovers player and Roberts too. Spilt milk, they are gone, otherwise we may as well be taliking about shearer and sutton, whats the point?

Yes QPR came out and played better the second half but isn't that what you would expect any team of Hughes to do? Did anyone expect us to score another three in the second half?

And yes QPR scored two goals (one very late on and too late to threaten the result) that took the edge off the scoreline a little, but we beat a fellow struggler and kept them deep in the relegation mix and gave ourselves another small lifeline towards the possibility of safety.

It was a crucial and oh so very important win and three points for us that will be so important to us by the end of the season.
Well done the lads! Allez les Bleus.
Hello Ms Desia - whats the weather like in Pune?
.
Keanocchio Out!
Nelsen did not play for Spurs on Sat did he not in your dream world?
.
As for any rovers fan on here suggesting anyone unhappy with Kean (Who would not be with such a numpty?) is a Dingle only serves to ensure you are seen as a complete fool madam!

The reason for football at the weekend is to forget about politics so the politicians should forget about football, they don't mix. Keans tenure has been dire, likewise so has venky's but FFS man when we win a game try and enjoy it, there may not be too many more.
Victor Meldrew FC

As i previously stated, the thing that disappoints me about your comments is you moaning about other supporters, Victor.

Personally I would have taken Pedersen off early in second half.
Bizarre? WBA have got a good deal with Andrews. Rovers fans gave him an unjust rough time whilst chanting the likes of Di Santo who WAS 'Not doing a job' - 1 goal in a season also cheering Jermaine Jones who scored none and made no assist at the same time lost us to many points / goalsl to mention. I could go on but what's the point. The likes of you help to cost Allardyce his job. That kind of negativity could be the difference between going down or staying up.
Exactly correct, there was nothing wrong with Andrews and he may come back to haunt us, but be careful what you say, too many champ managers on here.
But as andrews is now an x rovers player he will get treated as any other x rovers player, just like Nelsen is now an x Rovers player and Roberts too. Spilt milk, they are gone, otherwise we may as well be taliking about shearer and sutton, whats the point?
They don't and never will play for us again just as allardyce will never manage us again, so why keep going on about it, same said to both sides of the argument? Why not concentrate on what we have left?
What exactly is "the likes of me??" Please explain. And under what sort of warped logic did I "cost Allardyce his job?"

Read the initial comment I made, it is about the positive results this season being clear evidence that our current core set of players are perfectly good enough for the premiership and much better than those around us - "concentrating on what we have left" as KDG puts it - before you chirped in with some fan-bashing nonsense about Nelson and Andrews then astoundingly accuse ME of negativity.

KDG I think you make some good and valid points, however how do you defend the deafening silence from the Venky's?

We are all realists at heart, we just need to be told the truth and not fed a bunch of lies week in week out and then just MAYBE the Venky's may start earning a little respect and trust. Until then, people will continue to speculate and fear the worst - it's human nature - and from the behaviour of Venky's so far, there is more than an element of justification for the fans to feel threatened.

As for MP Jonesy, he is merely asking the questions we all have in a structured and formal manner, highlighting the deafening silence and the disconnect the owners have with the fans and the effect that this is having on a town and it's community.

As for ownership by the fans - it's not as far flung as you may think. The figures being bandied about are around the £10M mark. A couple of big hitters may put in say £2M, if 4,000 SUPPORTERS then put in £2K each - job done. I would be one of the 4,000 BTW.

A shapeshifter?? What?? Come on man, grow up.

I respectfully disagree and in fact would suggest it's the opposite. Supporters are fully aware of the bigger picture - which is negative no matter which way it's spun - and want to debate that, having already acknowledged the important win at QPR.

However judging by your posts, anybody wanting to debate those wider issues is accused of behaving like a dingle which sometimes makes you come across as some sort of positive PR machine, hence the accusations by some others.

Anyway, I don't want a slanging match. I firmly believe we have the players necessary to stay in the Prem, whether or not we have the other staff for it is another question. One thing is for sure though, if we do stay up we'll be expected to be thankful and appreciative of that, despite being a top 10 team just 18 months ago.

And I do agree with your thoughts on the takeover bids and such. They're here to stay, but that's no reason to be apathetic about it.

Samba was in the same situation, however rather than feigning injury constantly like Nelson decided to play and help the team.
I guess Samba could not win.

Sounds like your one of them because again you refer not to the opinion of two local MP's who have stated their concerns in public, thousands of Rovers fans critical of whats going on, local businessmen also and your fellow posters, ex players etc etc?
.
And now your upset at the critical comments of you after abusing many true Rovers fans on here - well Boo Hoo!
.

Look you d1ck, evil trio, jesus wept just listen to yourself, it isn't an episode from batman FFS, stalin and hitler killed about 12 million people between them. How many have Rovers management team finished off. Stop trying to make out rovers management team are likened war criminals, what a fecking idiot you are Morst, I'm not suprised it gets shut down at weekends. You and the other bellends were told to stop posting unsubstantiated rumours and libelous comments on many occasion, but you just couldn't help yourself because you are that fecking stupid, you did it to yourself. The word dingle is above you. I don't listen to MP's as they tell more lies than Venky's. Theres only one person I listen to and thats me, my word is law there is nothing higher than me in this world except God almighty, so you keep listeming to your MP's an talking sh1t, it suits you and your MP.

"Trying to educate a shoe."

Who the hell do you think you are? And why would you be trying to educate an inanimate object? And why is your vocabulary so disgustingly offensive when you have criticised others for using such language in the past?

Why have you blabbed on in your post about the worst case scenario not happening but conveniently ignored the promises (financial backing, players hitting the ground running, experience, 4 signings, etc) made to supporters which are the real cause for concern as well as results, lies, and the rest.

I'm quite sure you were one who advocated time for Kean's squad to settle, but are all to quick to criticise Hughes' loss at QPR within 3 weeks. Very good.

As I said, every supporter is enjoying this vital victory over QPR, EVERY supporter, nobody questions that. But at the same time, we're aware of the overall situation which IS dire - there are major concerns to most realistic fans about the tactics on display, managerial capabilities and owners which you seemingly want everyone to ignore.

YOUR first message on this article is a criticism of other fans opinions. Those you feel are "Dingles" and clearly disassociate yourself with who can look beyond a simple win. I'll be honest, I've never read anything valid from you, despite your self-important posts, but I have from most others...
Quality item.

KDG you are becoming a dullard.
BINGO.Say no more.
To both the dicks above, I thought my first post was saying what a bunch of moaning minnies Rovers fans have become or Victor Meldrew FC. I only mention dingles when Morst calls me Mrs desai for saying so and then starts spouting of his love of hitlers achievements. So learn to read before you wip yer kn@b out and dive in like Rooney in a care home.
