Midfielder closing in on Blackburn Rovers deal

IRANIAN midfielder Andranik Teymourian is closing in on being offered a short-term deal at Ewood Park.

The former Bolton and Fulham player opted out of travelling to Australia with Rovers as a trialist, but Sam Allardyce is still keen to give him the opportunity to revive his Premier League career.

Teymourian is understood to have undergone medical tests and, while the results are being waited for, negotiations continue over a potential deal.

So whats the point in saying come for a trial in australia we need to see more of u then he doesnt go unless we confirm we will give him a contract we wont, but now without having any further trial we are. We are beginning to sound desperate. Just because you managed him before alot of time has passed since. I still think that from the attitude he has had and fact he has not played regular under Megson at Bolton or Hodgson at fulham that most be some issue if it is his commitment I dont no but I am not happy with this being a first signing. I also thought we wherent signing a midfielder unless we got a striker first as we went and missed on a proper player in guti because of this.

What do you mean" another " quality signing. Talking about quality signings how much did your lot get mugged for by PNE for Ross Wallace?.If he could be bothered and had a better attitude then maybe i would give you the benefit of the doubt. On his day he can take a decent free kick but he is about as big as Brian Flynn and is too lightweight.

Hardly one to get the pulses racing is it? I echo others' comments about signing someone who refused to travel with the team to prove his worth. I guess Allardyce has seen enough to offer him a short-term deal and he's the one who sees him in training every day.
*
It is disappointing seeing Guti go to Turkey the other day, then Rovers on the verge of signing Andranik, but I imagine that the finances involved are substantially different (at least I hope they are). I hope we didn't miss out simply because we wanted to sign a striker first.
*
I can't really imagine what he is going to bring to the team that we don't already have - we needed a creative midfielder to take some of the load off Dunn, but I don't think this guy's the answer to that, so are we just wasting wages on someone who will be another squad player? Time will tell I suppose, and in the end it looks like he'll only be on a short-term deal.

You could be right Celtic - however his statistics don't seem to back up your comments:
.
20 assists and 12 goals in two seasons from the wing in a very poor PNE side means I think we may have uncovered a diamond - and for only £1.5 million - I think we have a bargain.
.
You lot can only dream of spunking £1.5 million on anyone ;-)

And you can only dream on being in the premiership again. Lets hope for a long unsuccessful era for Brain Laws at Burnley

Well he isnt the creative player we require could mean that he is looking to replace vince grella who Galatasaray are looking to bid for again, so has even more money for a striker but like mentioned before isnt the signing to make everyone get excited.

.....you may think that.....
.
a player who has been peripheral at best at his last two clubs.
.
mysteriously arrives for a trial.
.
turns down the opportunity to play with the team in australia to see if he is any good.
.
still may be offered a contract.
.
as i said - summat doesn't add up

£1.5 million,PNE really have mugged you.I saw him have is better days at Parkhead and is best game against Bayern in the champions league.Since then he as underachieved at Sunderland and PNE.Can't see things changing now he is at Burnley. We will see if you have uncovered a diamond or signed a fastly fading star come the end of the season.Bet your still smarting after the Blues did you again home and away.Have they started to demolish that death trap of a cricket field stand of yours yet?.

great pun,
this guy looks to me like a direct replacement for vinny grella a low cost squad player who will probably play about 5 games a season
I think he is just making the numbers up.
an intresting thing that a few people said about sam offering his resignation and leaving if a striker was not bought
well someone told me their mate was fixing sams telephones and his wife sang like a bird, its true,he may be going to rangers as their manager

Can he play upfront? Perhaps he felt he wouldn't fit in in a "Festival of Football", which begs the question - "What the hell were we doing there?" Must've cost a few quid too. And BFS is complaining that a team was too physical with them, pot/kettle springs to mind. Bet a few managers had a laugh at that one. Only saying...
