We asked our fans' jury: Would you be concerned if Rovers were to end the weekend outside of the automatic promotion spots?

I would be concerned but I expect it to be the case.

The script that Rovers' fans had written over the past few weeks doesn't appear to have been read by Wigan or Shrewsbury.

They seem to have weathered their "bad spells" and show few signs of faltering in the final crucial games.

They both have shown admirable spirit and fighting qualities in adversity and unfortunately both appear to have lady luck on their side.

I wonder and worry whether this Rovers' team has the character to withstand the pressure they are now inevitably going to face.

There's every chance or it is in fact probable that we will be out of the automatic promotion places after this weekend.

However, after Shrewsbury drew at Northampton on Tuesday night the beauty of the situation is that our promotion hopes are now in our hands.

With our points tally, our practically fully fit squad and the congestion of games that Wigan are facing, we must be title favourites and we must revel in that but keep our concentration.

I fully expect Richie Smallwood to return to his tenacious best following his disciplinary reprieve too which will be a great boost for these final games.

Ending the week outside the automatic promotion spots would put the pressure on Rovers to win upcoming games over Easter. But after Shrewsbury's draw at Northampton on Tuesday night, it's very much back in Rovers' hands in terms of finishing in the top two.

That should suit the players, who only have to concentrate on their own game.

Wigan will prove to be uncatchable, despite having to play many matches in a short amount of time. I expect them to win at least two of their games in hand, so second place is very much the aim.

With the Latics and Shrewsbury both playing at the weekend, there's an opportunity to claw back some ground on Rovers.

Our two week break isn't ideal - the players were no doubt itching to get out there at Gillingham - but having fresh legs for the Bradford game is not a bad thing.

Let's just hope none of the players on international duty pick up an injury.
