CRAIG Conway insists there is a determination within the Blackburn Rovers squad to keep their unbeaten run going for as long as possible after making it six games without defeat under Tony Mowbray at Fulham.

Rovers have won two and drawn four of the six games under their new head coach after they rescued a point at Craven Cottage courtesy of Lucas Joao’s injury-time equaliser in the 2-2 draw.

Conway had earlier levelled at 1-1 with 11 minutes to go to cancel out Sone Aluko’s opener but Gohi Cyriac’s late strike looked to have handed Fulham the points, before Joao’s third goal in two games.

And Conway says the Rovers players are doing all they can to maintain their unbeaten start under Mowbray and pull themselves clear of the bottom three.

“That’s a couple of times we’ve scored late on and that shows the character within the group,” the winger said.

“We’re on a good run, six games unbeaten, and we don’t want to let that slip.

“That’s all credit to the lads and the never say die attitude and it was brilliant.

“The momentum is building.

“We’re in the position we are in because we deserve to be there, and it’s only us that can change that.

“At the minute we’re doing the right things and picking up points and long may that continue.”

Joao’s equaliser, in the fourth minute of stoppage time, cued wild celebrations among the 714 travelling supporters who made the long trip to Craven Cottage on Tuesday night.

It was Joao’s third goal in two games after his brace at Norwich City four days earlier as Rovers made it back-to-back 2-2 away draws.

And Conway believes there is a sense of togetherness among players and fans in the battle to avoid the drop.

He added: “The scenes at the end was brilliant, it’s been a great couple of away points for us.

“There is a feeling that everyone is heading, and wanting to push, in the right direction and the fans have been brilliant.

“A midweek game in London, it was a fantastic turnout and the scenes at the end it felt like everyone is in it together and then when the final whistle goes and everyone goes to the fans it was brilliant, that’s what it’s all about.

“You looked at these two fixtures and they are two of the toughest places to go, but to get two points is brilliant.

“The lads were disappointed to come away with a draw from Norwich but I think that just shows how well we’re playing and that we’re high in confidence and feel we can get points against anyone.

“We know we’re capable, it’s just a matter of going and getting on that run and at the minute we’re doing that.”

Conway was back in the side after missing the Norwich trip to attend the birth of his daughter, Myla.

And he admits scoring from the spot, and Rovers earning a last gasp draw topped off a good few days in the Conway household.

“There’s been a lack of sleep but it’s been an amazing week and this tops off a great week for me personally,” he said.

“We showed some character hanging in there and we showed some character and got another good point at a tough place.

“With the birth of my daughter, Myla, it has been really good and then I was delighted to play and to get the goal was brilliant.”
