BLACKBURN Rovers could bank around £700,000 from their televised FA Cup fifth round clash with Manchester United on Sunday - and a reply could swell that figure to more than £1million.

Rovers host the holders on Sunday (4.15pm) and will receive £247,500 as a result of the game being screened live on BT Sport, plus prize money of £180,000 even if they are knocked out by Jose Mourinho’s men.

That would be double the amount they received for their fourth round win over Blackpool, and added to the £67,500 received for their round three success at QPR on January 7.

Rovers are guaranteed 45 per cent of the revenue from ticket sales for Sunday’s game, with United getting an equal share, and the remaining 10 per cent going to the Football Association.

That could well see them bring in at least a further £270,000, and secure an estimated income of £700,000 from the game, with more than 21,000 tickets having already been sold for the Ewood Park clash.

Should Rovers earn a draw and take United to a replay they could earn more than £1million just from that game.

Cambridge United, who took the Red Devils to Old Trafford in a fourth round replay in February 2015, were said to have earned more than £1.2million for that game, with Rovers likely to earn a similar figure should Sunday’s game end all square.

Were Rovers to make it in to the quarter-finals, and be subsequently knocked out, they would earn £360,000 for reaching the last eight.

Tickets remain on sale to fans with a Rovers booking history until close of play Saturday.

Adult tickets are priced at £30 in all areas of the ground, with those aged 65 and above, or between 18 and 21, able to purchase tickets for £20.

Junior tickets, for those 17 and under, are £10.

Tickets won’t go on general sale, or be available on the day of the game, with United having sold out their allocation of around 7,000 in the Darwen End.

They can be bought from the RoverStore at Ewood Park, by phone on 01254 372000 or online at www.eticketing.co.uk/onerovers
