OWEN Coyle has three potential signings lined up for Blackburn Rovers and revealed he has scoured the international market for new players.

Rovers are yet to add to their squad this month but Coyle is hopeful of doing so before the transfer window shuts on January 31.

Coyle is looking to add three players this month, as well as securing the services of Swansea loanee Marvin Emnes for at least the remainder of the season, as talks between Rovers and the Welsh club continue.

Coyle is still awaiting the go-ahead from owners Venky’s to get his targets, who he was reluctant to name, over the line.

“I am reaching out to all of the markets because I want to bring good players to Blackburn Rovers,” Coyle said.

“We will utilise all of our contacts, which we have, there are many from the years we have been in the game.

“Within those targets I think it’s fair to say they don’t all come from England, but it’s about getting the right ones in and over the line.

“There are three targets I have in my mind who I believe would improve the club and the team and that’s what we’re trying to do.

“To get those over the line takes a number of things to come together, a huge part of that is the finances being available and at the right level.”

Coyle has worked closely with newly-appointed Rovers Football Director Paul Senior in a bid to add to the Rovers squad this month as they look to move clear of the Championship relegation zone.

And on the state-of-play with his identified targets, Coyle added: “I think it is fair to say talks with those three are ongoing and hopefully we can get those over the line.

“All three would bring pace, power and quality and would help the team in different areas of the field.

“Regarding the finances of the deals, it is fair to say we have an idea of what the costings would be on an individual and collective basis if we are able to do all three.

“We are trying to do all we can and we are trying to work away at that, look to add, and look to keep building the momentum with the right type of players in to try and improve in the long-term.

One positive for Coyle is the fact all three players are keen to join the Ewood Park club, and believes they would add strength his squad.

“I know that they do, there is no doubt about that,” he added. “I think they would enhance the squad.

“I think we have brought some very good players to the club in the first window and we would like to continue that by adding to the quality of players that we have.

“I see potential in these three if we are able to conclude all of those deals.”

The transfer window closes on January 31 but Coyle is keen to act quickly.

He added: “The sooner we get them in the better because it would help them settle in and be more readily available for the games coming up to complement and add to the squad.

“We have returned a few players and we want to make sure we have a far healthier and available squad for the demands of second half of the season.”
