BLACKBURN Rovers development duo Jack Doyle and Connor Thomson have both agreed new contracts at the club.

Both Doyle and Thomson have extended their stay at Ewood Park until the summer of 2019.

Defender Doyle has been with Rovers since the age of 10, progressing through the club's youth ranks to the fringes of the first team.

Although yet to make a senior appearance, the 19-year-old was on the bench for the Championship game against Burton Albion and the EFL Cup tie at Leeds United earlier this season.

He has also been a regular in Damien Johnson's under-23s side, with Rovers keen to secure his future with a new deal.

Thomson, meanwhile, has been with the club since 2014 where he joined following a trial period having previously been with League Two Carlisle United.

The 20-year-old has also been a regular in the Development side, and has played at full-back, as well as in midfield, and will play a big part for the under-23s for the remainder of the season.

Both were part of Rovers' Checkatrade Trophy side, with Doyle starting the games against Fleetwood and Carlisle, while Thomson was involved in the narrow defeat to Fleetwood in August.
