BLACKBURN Rovers are still waiting to learn whether Marvin Emnes will be available for tomorrow’s FA Cup tie at QPR.

It comes as Rovers and Swansea remain in dialogue over Emnes’ future, with his loan spell at Ewood Park set to end next week.

Rovers currently pay just a fraction of the 28-year-old’s wages, ‎and although boss Owen Coyle is keen to extend his stay, which expires after next weekend’s league trip to Ipswich, it could come down to the club’s agreeing a similar financial package.

Emnes’ contract at Swansea, who have just appointed Paul Clement as manager, expires in the summer and the Swans are still weighing up his future.

The forward has played 18 times for Rovers so far this season, scoring three goals, with Coyle keen to keep the Dutchman.

“He is a player that I have said I would like to keep but there is dialogue that needs to take place with that one,” said Coyle.

“It’s a little trickier, because, and I have to thank Swansea for this, they did us a real favour in terms of the salary we have to pay.

“It was minimal in comparison to what he earns, but with him going in to the last six months of his contract, we have to understand that may change.

“The dialogue is ongoing, but we have to await an answer from Swansea.

“We might be without him, so there‘s a number of question marks on players being available.”

Rovers travel to Loftus Road for the third round tie without Craig Conway after he limped out of Monday’s win over Newcastle.

Scans have revealed a slight hamstring tear though Coyle admits the 31-year-old is in with an outside chance of being fit for Ipswich next weekend.

Rovers should have Sam Gallagher available, with Southampton expected to grant him permission to play, but Darragh Lenihan will serve the final match of his three game ban.

Corry Evans will also miss out as Rovers continue to monitor his long-term groin problem.

However, Ben Marshall could feature, despite speculation over his future, after he recovered from a groin injury to return to training.

On Conway, Coyle said: “Craig was assessed, we had a scan and it’s not as severe as we first feared.

“He might, and I say might loosely, he might make the Ipswich game, but if not then he should have a chance of being involved thereafter.

“We hope that he will heal quickly, and from a mentality he wants to be back as quickly as possible.

“If he doesn’t make Ipswich then I hope he would be available for the Birmingham game.”

Youngsters Ryan Nyambe, Scott Wharton, Lewis Travis and Willem Tomlinson will all travel with the squad for the third round tie though, with Coyle set to give some of his fringe players a run out and rest a couple of first team stars.

And Coyle added: “As a squad we’re depleted in numbers.

“But that will also give an opportunity to one or two of the younger ones and one or two who have maybe been sat on the bench waiting for an opportunity.

“There are one or two who are in need of some game-time in that respect.

“That being said, it’s a game that we want to win. We will go there in good heart with players who want to show what they can as they want to play more of a part in the second half of the season.”
