MARVIN Emnes is set to spearhead the Blackburn Rovers attack in Saturday’s Ewood Park clash with Ipswich Town.

But strike-partner Danny Graham is still receiving treatment in the lead up to the visit of the Tractor Boys.

The Rovers duo limped off in the second half of the 1-0 loss at Birmingham City before the international break.

However while Emnes has made a full recovery Graham has been working with the physios in an attempt to shake off a groin injury in time to face Ipswich.

But Charlie Mulgrew is back in full training after a month on the sidelines with the calf injury he sustained on his Rovers debut last month.

Mulgrew played no part in Tuesday’s behind-closed-doors 4-2 victory over Accrington Stanley at Brockhall.

But he came through two sessions at the start of the week as he edges closer to a first-team return.

Rovers assistant manager Sandy Stewart believes the two-week break has been good for good for the players after a run of seven games in three weeks.

Stewart said “We were disappointed how the game went at Birmingham so it has made for a long two weeks.

“But it has given people a chance who were struggling a bit with injury and hopefully they will all be recovered by the time we play Ipswich Town at the weekend.

“I think you’ll find most teams in the Championship, with the amount of games you play, there will be people feeling it. We had some people carrying knocks here and there.

“But the break has given us a chance to get them back and hopefully the ones who have been away with the internationals will be fine when they come back.

“Charlie Mulgrew has come back into first-team training. We were actually thinking about playing him (against Stanley) but he only came back in on Monday.

“But he’s done two full training sessions now and hopefully he’ll keep going from there and grow stronger.

“Danny and Marvin picked up injuries (against Birmingham). Marvin has come back and he’s trained and Danny’s still working with the physios. He’s really working hard.

“We just have to make sure they all become available sooner rather than later.”

Rovers follow Saturday’s visit of Ipswich with another home clash against Nottingham Forest on Tuesday.

“We’ve got two home games to come and we’ll be hoping to take maximum points,” said Stewart to Rovers PlayerHD.

“It’ll be difficult, Ipswich and Nottingham Forest will not be easy, but we’re at home, and we’ll be going out there expecting three points.”
