BLACKBURN Rovers have announced the signing of teenage West Ham United midfielder Martin Samuelsen on a season-long loan.
The 19-year-old, who was also wanted by Championship rivals Ipswich Town, becomes Rovers boss Owen Coyle’s eighth signing of the summer.
Samuelsen, who can play on the left or in the middle, has yet to make a senior league appearance for West Ham since signing from Manchester City in 2013.
But the Norway international did play 20 times for Peterborough United last season, scoring two goals, including a wonderful solo effort at Sheffield United, in his first loan spell away from the Hammers.
Samuelsen, who has been given permission to play in the EFL Cup and EFL Trophy, will take over the number 11 shirt vacated by Jordan Rhodes.
