BLACKBURN Rovers will field two completely different line-ups in tomorrow’s three-team tournament at the Globe Arena.

Rovers take on League One side Bury at 1pm before facing a second hour-long match, featuring two 30-minute-halves, against League Two hosts Morecambe at 2.30pm.

And Owen Coyle is planning to give every available member of his squad a run out including in-demand captain Grant Hanley providing he comes through training today.

Rovers boss Coyle, whose side kicked-off their pre-season preparations with a 1-0 win at SV Ried last weekend, said: “We will have two separate teams. One team will play the first game and a completely different team will play the second game.

“That way the players who play will get 60 minutes under their belts. Last week at SV Ried it was about getting them up and running with 45 minutes and now the following week allows us to get more time against two tough opponents.

“It’ll be a good test, which is what we want, and while results are not always important in pre-season, it’s always nice when you’ve worked hard and done well, and that’s what we’ll look to do.”

Skipper Hanley, who has been the subject of two failed bids from Newcastle United, sat out the victory over SV Ried after picking up a knee injury on the eve of the match.

Coyle said: “I’m hoping Grant will join in with the group tomorrow (Friday) and if there’s no adverse reaction he’ll put himself in line to get some minutes on Saturday.

“But having said that we need to make sure, having had a wee bit of bother with his knee before, that’s there’s no adverse reaction.”

Wes Brown, who has joined the club for pre-season after leaving Sunderland at the end of the 2015-16 campaign, will play no part tomorrow as he continues to regain full fitness following a calf injury.

But Coyle confirmed that Danny Guthrie is fit again after featuring in Rovers Under-21s’ 3-0 win over a strong Oldham Athletic team on Wednesday.

“Danny was ready to play in the game versus SV Ried but he tweaked his groin in the warm-up,” said Coyle, who has a doubt over Hope Akpan.

“But he played 65 minutes with the kids yesterday (Wednesday). He played very well but the thing I loved about it was he had no hesitation when I asked if he wanted to go and play with the kids.

“He got some minutes to get up to speed and the kids benefited from having an experienced player on the field.

“It was good to see and I thought he showed a really good attitude.”

The three-team tournament will conclude with a clash between Morecambe and Bury at 4pm.
