BLACKBURN Rovers boss Paul Lambert is thrilled by the prospect of facing Premier League opposition in the FA Cup fifth round.

Lambert’s Championship side cruised into the last 16 with a 3-0 victory at League Two high flyers Oxford United on Saturday thanks to two goals from Ben Marshall and one from debutant Tony Watt.

And Rovers’ reward for the comfortable victory is a home clash with either West Ham United or Liverpool.

The Reds, who knocked Rovers out at the quarter-final stage last season, played out a 0-0 draw with the Hammers at Anfield on Saturday.

Now the top-flight rivals will go head-to-head in an Upton Park replay on Tuesday, February 9 to decide who will face Rovers.

And Lambert said: “It’s a brilliant draw and a massive game whoever we get.

“We know that we are getting a Premier League team coming to Ewood Park and hopefully we’ll have a full house.

“The result at Oxford provided us with the opportunity to get a game of such stature, and it’s great financially and for the fans.”

The visit of either the Reds or the Hammers to Ewood will take place over the weekend of February 19-21.
