BLACKBURN Rovers have been drawn at home to League One new boys Shrewsbury Town in the first round of the Capital One Cup.

The tie with the Shrews, who were runners-up in League Two last season, will take place the week beginning August 10.

Rovers won the last meeting between the sides, a Coca-Cola Cup third-round replay at Gay Meadow in November 1993, 4-3 thanks to two goals from Mike Newell and one each from David May and Ian Pearce.
