AN inmate who hit teenage murderer Luke Mitchell in a Young Offenders' Institution has had an extra four months added to his sentence.
Daniel Burns, 20, of Eastfield, Cumbernauld, said he attacked Mitchell because he had been giving him evil looks.
The incident happened in Polmont Young Offenders' Institution, near Falkirk, where Mitchell, 18, is serving a 20-year sentence for the 2002 murder of 14-year-old Jodi Jones, of Dalkeith.
Falkirk Sheriff Court today heard that Burns attacked Mitchell last June, picking up the chair in the visiting area and hitting it against the killer's right arm.
Burns was nearing the end of a five-month sentence for breach of the peace and shoplifting at the time.
He was immediately seized by warders and he and Mitchell were taken back to their cells.
The 20-year-old pleaded guilty to assaulting and injuring Mitchell.
Just three days ago, Burns was sentenced at Airdrie Sheriff Court to 17 months' custody for a string of offences, including breach of the peace.
