Pakistan: Military officials today revealed they had successfully test-fired a new version of the country's long-range nuclear-capable missile.

A spokesman said: "The missile test was part of a continuous process of validation and technical improvement."

The Hatf VI missile, which was launched from an undisclosed location, has a range of 1245 miles.

It's Pakistan's longest-range ballistic missile system, and has the capability to hit major cities in neighbouring India.

The nuclear-armed rivals have a history of bitter relations, and often test-fire missiles.
