WHILE Celtic fans await confirmation they will be allowed to attend the Champions League second leg in the San Siro next month, AC Milan have hinted they may ban their own fans from the game at Parkhead next week.

That would allow more home supporters to get tickets for the match.

But I'm not sure it would do anything for the occasion as FC Copenhagen supporters certainly helped the atmosphere when their team played here in the group stage.

It has all become a bit of a media circus while Uefa, AC Milan and the Italian government try to reach a decision on which fans will be allowed into the game in the San Siro.

None of this should affect the preparation of the players who will have more than enough to think about in terms of the games themselves. And we should not lose sight of the fact Celtic's match in Italy is still three weeks away.

It would be a different story if the first leg was being played in the San Siro, as Valencia's against Inter Milan is scheduled to be a week tomorrow.

It's worth taking time to get it right.
