CHRYSLER is releasing eight new models in the UK this year in a bid to push its market share past 1% for the first time in decades.
The firm sold 20,500 vehicles in Britain last year - up almost 40% on 2005.
With new models planned for the Chrysler, Jeep and Dodge brands, growth of 15% or so should see sales of more than 1%.
Most of the new models were unveiled at the Detroit Motor Show, including the new Dodge Avenger, a saloon with 1970s muscle-car looks.
The Chrysler Sebring arrives in June, along with a convertible version with a retractable hard-top.
Jeep is gaining four new models in 2007 - the new Wrangler, four-door Wrangler Unlimited, Jeep Compass and Jeep Patriot.
