KENNY MILLER today paid tribute to his Rangers team-mates for proving their SPL title credentials.

The Ibrox club headed to Easter Road last weekend knowing they had to grab at least a point to overtake Old Firm rivals Celtic.

But Walter Smith's men produced one of the most impressive displays of the season to stroll to a 3-0 victory over Hibs and returned to the top of the table.

And Miller, who bagged a double against his former club, said: "There is always pressure on you when a team moves above you the previous day because your match isn't until the Sunday.

"That's especially so when you are going to a difficult venue like Easter Road.

"Hibs play excellent football at times and you always look at an away fixture there as one of the most difficult you face. We went there knowing we had to at least draw to move back to the top of the league but secured maximum points.

"To get any kind of result there means you've got to have played well, but to win 3-0, and to do so in the manner we did, then we've got to be really pleased."

Miller managed to grab a brace against his former club, the same way as he hit a double against Celtic, and he has been getting a bit of stick from his team-mates for only managing to find the back of the net during those two matches.

He laughed: "The boys were joking with me after the game saying I should only play when we are facing my old teams, but it was nice to score.

"I can't recall having as many shots at goal than in the Motherwell match the previous weekend, but it was good to finish off a couple of good moves on Sunday.

"I think everyone is pleased with the way things are going just now and we have made a good start to the league campaign.

"Now it's just a case of keeping things going.

"We travel to Love Street to play St Mirren on Sunday and we'll have it all to do there again."
