CLYDE gaffer John Brown today admitted that a late switch off cost his side a share of the points at Livingston.

Pat Clarke had put the Bully Wee in front just before the half-hour mark but a Tony McParland strike in 39 minutes and Leigh Griffiths' winner four minutes from time finally broke the resolve of the battling side.

A frustrated Bomber said: "There is no doubt that we should have taken something from the game. At one goal up we had chances to go on and win the game but we didn't take them and paid for it.

"Ironically enough it was the first game this season that we actually got out the traps and then we go and switch off late on and it has cost us.

"That said, it is all part of the learning curve for the boys and they will need to absorb this lesson quickly because it is a painful one."

But Bomber believes that his side can take heart from the way they pushed second placed Livi all the way.

He said: "The boys must take some confidence from the game. We proved that we were more than a match for one of the leaders. Overall though, we have to make sure that we maintain our concentration for 90 minutes."

Meanwhile, Morton gaffer Davie Irons admitted his side shot themselves in the foot after the Ton went down 1-0 to Dundee at Dens Park thanks to a 31st minute Eric Paton header.

He said: "The goal has come from another set piece and that has been something we have not dealt with at all this season. So I am very disappointed in that respect. However, there were improvements in many aspects of our play and the fact is there was nothing in it. All of that makes it very frustrating.

"We do need to provide more creativity and there was a lack of intelligence in some of our play."
