Freq returns to the Sub Club next Friday with another stellar line-up in the form of a Musique Risque showcase featuring the godfather of glitch, Akufen, and a live set from Guillaume and The Cotou Dumonts.

Returning to Glasgow for the first time in far too long, Akufen, aka Montreal's Marc Leclair, creates interestingly funky and highly original soundscapes. He has also produced under the banner of Rene Disco, Anna Kaufen and Horror Inc.

He released his celebrated mix for the long-running Fabric series, Fabric 17, in 2004 and is now a monthly resident at the London superclub.

Akufen set up the Musique Risquee label in 2003 and will present his label-mate, Guillaume and The Couto Dumonts, who release their debut EP, Face à l'est, for the label in October.

They play a special blend of funk, house, techno, gospel, swing, barbershop quartet and afro-beat.

They will be joined on the night by Freq resident Brian and Murray who are sure to warm things up nicely.

A special pre-club will be in operation at the popular Ivy Bar where Freq have secured the services of Edinburgh-based tech label Avionix Recordings, who will be showcasing their electronic machine sounds. Freq presents Musique Risquee Showcase @ the Sub Club, Friday October 5, 11pm-3am. £10
