MOTHERWELL manager Mark McGhee will attend a tribute match between Celtic's 1998 championship-winning team, including Parkhead legend Henrik Larsson, and Well's 1991 Scottish Cup heroes, on May 25 at Parkhead.

And he admits that the occasion will form part of his grieving process.

He said: "At the time, I felt it was my job to rise above it. Someone had to take the lead, hence in the morning after it I was able to stand up there and talk because I felt someone had to take control there, not weeks later. So I have used the need for me to be strong for everyone else as the barrier for me not to get too distracted or emotional. I will go away in the summer and take a breathe out.

Tickets for the O'Donnell game will cost £10 for adults and £3 for children.

Former Celtic coach Wim Jansen will return to the dugout opposite ex-Well boss Tommy McLean.

Of the Phil O'Donnell Tribute Match, McGhee added: "Phil's family must be, and will be, staggered by everything that's happened, but that's the regard he was held in by everyone.

"Given the fact that other charities are involved, it made sense for the game to be held at Parkhead because the majority of Motherwell fans can travel there while the majority of Celtic supporters couldn't travel to Fir Park."
