IT'S nearly Valentine's Day again - that time of year when we shower our loved ones with chocolates, roses, cards and other tokens of our love.

If last year is any guideline, we'll be digging deep into our pockets over the next few days to mark February 14.

In 2007, we spent around £202million on loved ones, according to the Scottish Retail Consortium.

But this year the Evening Times is giving one lucky couple a three-night trip to Paris, the most romantic city of them all - absolutely free!

We've teamed up with easyJet, Scotland's largest low-fares airline, to bring you this fantastic Valentine's competition.

We went out on the streets to find the most romantic couples in Glasgow and - with your help - we'll send the winners off on a fantastic trip they will never forget.

The lucky couple will win return flights from Glasgow to Paris and three nights' accommodation, with breakfast, in a three-star hotel, worth £1000.

We also have two runners-up prizes of return flights to the French capital.

With an endless parade of top cabaret, museums, galleries, shops and restaurants - not to mention the chance to climb to the top of the Eiffel Tower or go on a cruise down the Seine - the City of Light fully merits its reputation as the world capital of romance.

But we need your help to decide who the winner will be.

We asked people why they and their partner deserved to go to Paris.

Their reasons ranged from making great music to being a great mum!

Read their words - and then let us know which reader, in your opinion, most deserves the prize.

Text us with your choice by midday tomorrow, starting your message with ROMANCE, leave a space and then your chosen contender's letter (ie, for Samantha Scott text U) to 80360.

Alternatively, e-mail your vote (using your chosen contender's letter as the subject title) to: greatgiveaways@glasgow.newsquest.co.uk Guided by your votes, we'll let the winner know of his - or her - good fortune in time for Valentine's Day!
