GLASGOW Lord Provost Bob Winter will today launch a global multicultural festival at the SECC.
It's the second time the city has hosted the World Sufi Festival, which offers a diverse programme putting peace and love at the forefront of community activity.
A programme of talks and workshops exploring Sufism and a wide range of international performers, artists, crafts, fashion, poetry, theatre, film and food will be laid on for families.
The festival, which runs until Sunday, celebrates a mystical way of life which emphasises respect for all religions.
It crosses cultural and religious boundaries and aims to help us understand where we come from and what we have in common.
Mr Winter, left, said: "This is a wonderful occasion, bringing a positive message of peace and hope to people everywhere.
"I'm delighted that the World Sufi Festival has once again chosen our city as its location. It has proved very popular with Glaswegians."
