SCOTT BROWN today tipped Celtic team-mate Kenny Miller to bag the goals for Scotland against South Africa tonight.

The Hoops midfielder watched Miller come to the rescue at the weekend when he climbed off the bench to hit a brace in his side's 3-1 victory over Aberdeen at Pittodrie.

And Brown sees no reason why the Scotland striker can't add to his international tally of nine goals at the same venue.

He said: "Kenny is certainly on form just now and really helped changed the game for us on Sunday when he came on against Aberdeen.

"He managed to put us ahead and then scored an excellent goal from over 25 yards out, to take the pressure off us and make it a more comfortable end to the game than it would have been.

"So he deserves a lot of credit for doing that and I'm sure he'll be hoping to score again at Pittodrie tomorrow night for Scotland.

"From training with him every day at Celtic, I know just how sharp he is and he has worked really hard in pre-season. And he'll be full of confidence just now.

"He also scored an important goal for us against Falkirk last weekend, so three goals in his last two games is great going and I'm certain he'll be bursting to keep trying to score in every game, including Scotland matches."

Brown is looking forward to facing South Africa and getting more international experience under his belt.

He has three caps to his name, and said: "You want to play as often as you can for your country and there is no doubt the more appearances you make, the more experienced and knowledgeable you become.

"Everyone is looking forward to facing South Africa and it should be a good test for us, but you know every match at this level is going to be demanding and tough.

"We just want to try and give a good account of ourselves, hopefully impress the manager and get a victory. The training has gone well over the last couple of days and we are just looking forward to it."

Meanwhile, injured midfielder James Morrison revealed today he was so keen to make his debut for Scotland, that he lied about his fitness.

The West Brom star, who qualifies via a Scots' grandfather, had been carrying a hamstring niggle and said: "I didn't want to tell anyone as I was desperate to play... but I couldn't ignore it any longer. I had to confess in the end to be fair to my team-mates."

Scotland: C Gordon, A Hutton, R Anderson, S McManus, J McEveley, S Brown, G Caldwell, D Fletcher, J McFadden, K Miller, G O'Connor. Scotland have slipped one place to 23rd in the latest Fifa world rankings.
