YOUNG Glasgow indie starlets Attic Lights became the latest band to bring their talents to a city centre record store.

The five-piece outfit performed live in Zavvi, Buchanan Street last night before signing copies of their debut album Friday Night Lights.

The Springburn-based act brought their uplifting, Beach Boys-influenced guitar pop to the venue in the second in-store performance at the Buchanan Street shop in as many days.

Attic Lights, managed by Francis MacDonald of Teenage Fanclub, also demonstrated their versatility with a few nods to REM and the Flaming Lips.

And their four-part harmonies showed off their impressive Byrds-tinged vocal talents.

Kev Sherry (vocals, guitar), Colin McArdle (vocals, bass), Jamie Houston (guitar, vocals), Tim Davidson (guitar) and Noel O'Donnell (drums, vocals) recently performed at the Scotcampus student festival in Glasgow's George Square and are quickly gaining an army of fans.

They signed a five-album deal with Island Records recently and after their set signed copies of their new recording for eager fans.

The group are now gearing up for a performance with former Catatonia and I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here! star Cerys Matthews and Paul Heaton of the Beautiful South at the Glasgow ABC on October 25.
