HERE'S a passing out parade with a difference!
Back in the dark days of 1940, more than 300 Glasgow Scouts and Rovers gathered in Elmbank Crescent in the city centre to be instructed in stretcher drill by members of the St Andrew's Ambulance Association.
The boys were to be used to carry casualties in the event of German air raids on Glasgow.
For a lot of the boys their training would come in useful over the next four years as many of them swapped their neckies and woggles for khaki and rifles to do their bit to liberate Europe from the Nazis.
