CHARLIE ADAM today revealed how Celtic goalkeeper Artur Boruc helped him bag his first Old Firm goal.

The midfielder secured a 2-0 win for Rangers with a superb free-kick at Ibrox.

While the Celtic wall jumped in anticipation of his usual flighted set-piece, Adam left them stunned by rolling the ball along the ground and into the back of the net instead.

But the Ibrox youngster admits he did have a helping hand from the Hoops' last line of defence.

"The wall lined up and I saw Artur Boruc shouting at his wall to tell them to jump," he confessed. "I thought: If they're going to jump, why not put it underneath'. It went into the back of the net and I scored my first Old Firm goal. It's unbelievable.

"I was surprised because Celtic never jump, but this time I saw the goalie telling them to. Maybe it was because of the goals they lost last week. I don't think he saw me seeing him telling them to jump."

Adam has now scored 14 times from midfield during his breakthrough season, but knows he will face stiff competition for a place next season.

He said: "At any club, there are going to be players coming in. Once you think you're secure in the side, you're out the side.

"I never rest on my laurels and I know there's going to be players coming in."
