Fri Jun 22-Sun Jul 1, 10am-midnight daily, City Inn, Finnieston Quay, Glasgow, free, 0141 240 1002 Wherever there is music, a photographer will not be far away. Whether it is through love of the medium or a fascination with the dynamics of live performance, photographers have always been drawn to the world of the musician. So it's appropriate as the Glasgow International Jazz Festival gets into swing that the City Inn is giving wall space to the work of William Ellis, whose love of jazz has taken him - and his camera - all over the world.

"I always have an incredible feeling of exhilaration as the playing begins and a unique performance unfolds," he once said, making it his ambition to capture the energy and atmosphere of the jazz life on and off stage. His black and white prints focus on the instruments in the dressing room as well as the musicians at play, the quiet portrait as well as the gig in full flight.
