BLACKBURN Rovers boss Gary Bowyer says he will not make signings for the sake of it.

Under the terms of the club’s transfer embargo Bowyer now has room in his ranks for two new additions after Leon Best’s departure to Brighton.

But with a fully fit squad to choose from he is determined to get his moves in the market right.

“We are not going to bring somebody in just for the sake of bringing somebody in,” said Bowyer, who is restricted to loan signings and free transfers until the summer at least after Rovers failed Financial Fair Play (FFP).

“It’s got to be the right player and the right person to improve the squad.

“Obviously there’s a restriction about how much you can spend because of the embargo.

“But we’re not being told we can’t bring anybody in on loan if we needed to.”

Rovers’ ‘FFP embargo’ means they cannot pay any loan signings or free transfers more than £600,000 a year.
