YOUNG Blackburn Rovers centre back Jack O’Connell has re-signed for Rochdale on loan.

The 20-year-old played a key role as Dale, managed by former Rovers defender Keith Hill, won promotion from League Two last season.

And, despite offers from other League One clubs, he has decided to make the move back to Spotland after Rovers boss Gary Bowyer allowed him to go back out on loan following the arrival of Shane Duffy.

O’Connell, who was an unused substitute against Wolves on Saturday, will spend the next four months with Dale.
