JORDAN Rhodes has been selected to start for Blackburn Rovers in today’s Championship clash at home to Bournemouth – after owners Venky’s rejected a big-money offer from Hull City for their prized asset.

It will be Rhodes’ 100th appearance for the club.

Hull, whose current club record signing is £8m midfielder Jake Livermore, were willing to pay in excess of £10m for the prolific striker.

But Venky’s have made it clear that they have no intention of selling Rhodes who has scored 53 goals in his first 99 games for the club.

Rovers have made one change to the side which started Tuesday’s 3-1 controversial and agonising defeat at Norwich City as Ben Marshall replaces Lee Williamson.

That means Tom Cairney will start in the centre of midfield alongside Corry Evans who has passed a late fitness test after coming off late on against Norwich.

Bournemouth, the last team to leave Ewood Park with three points back on March 12, are unchanged from the side which started their undeserved 2-1 home defeat to Nottingham Forest on Tuesday.

The Cherries are managed by former Burnley boss Eddie Howe.
