BLACKBURN Rovers season ticket sales are up 30 per cent on this time last year.

The club have not put a figure on the amount of season tickets sold but director of communications Alan Myers hailed the response from supporters as ‘fantastic’.

Five per cent of the season tickets sold have been to new customers while plenty of returning fans have bought a season ticket for the first time since Rovers were relegated from the Premier League in 2012.

The club also reported that there has been a 'good conversion rate' of supporters turning half-season tickets into full season tickets. Gary Bowyer’s side won five, drew four and lost two of their 11 home games in 2014 as they just missed out on the play-offs.

And with season tickets starting at £249 for adults, £159 for seniors and 17-21-year-olds, and £60 for juniors, the club is hopeful of a late surge in sales before the campaign gets under way at home to Cardiff City on Friday, August 8 (7.45pm).

Myers said: “It is fantastic that the season ticket sales figures are up, it shows that the supporters have really got behind the manager and players.

“It is pleasing to see fans returning to the club, but it is about the team and what they do on the pitch that matters, that is why people will come back.

“We will be embarking on a huge fan engagement project, we want to give them something to be proud of.”

Initial work has started at Ewood Park for a matchday fanzone while Rovers are calling on supporters to submit their ideas for a ‘parade of honour’ at the ground that will celebrate the club’s history.

Fans are asked to email suggestions to parade@rovers.co.uk including which memorable moments, players and goals they would like to see on display.

Rovers will also welcome suggestions on what the parade, which is planned for the link bridges at the Blackburn and Darwen End stands, could be called.

Great news, I have been as upset as anyone else with the situation at Ewood , but it's time to move on and back the team.

At this rate Rovers might once again sell more than Burnley, which we have done every year since the mid-70's.

What a shambles.

Having to offer tickets for next to nothing when you are losing over £30million a season because the scruff's of Blackburn simply wont part with any more. Whoever is making the financial decisions behind the scenes must not like Blackburn Rovers very much. Just one more area that will be looked back on as a contributing factor to the financial mess about to engulf your club.

"Fans are asked to email suggestions to parade@rovers.co.uk including which memorable moments, players and goals they would like to see on display." Here are my suggestions....

Memorable moment: The thousands of angry no-dads gesticulating wildly towards the Darwen End whilst crying likes babies after their tubbing off the Clarets.

Memorable player: Jason Shackell for silencing the yapping mongrels, twice.

Memorable goal: Has to be Danny Ings scoring the winner for the Clarets, 9th March 2014.

Shambles? Offering fair prices to fans instead of ripping them off as per the Burnley 'make hay while the sun shines' approach.

You win one game in 35 years. How about you lot getting pumped 5-0 at Ewood for the parade. Or perhaps our Premiership win or Worthington Cup or the numerous European campaigns we have played in over the past 20 years or the world class talent that has graced the Ewood turf?

What's going in the Burnley museum? A 6 fingers GK glove and a few dusty tin cups from the 70's??

Still bitter and obsessed with all things Blackburn Rovers?? INDEED!!

The shame of the no-dads knows no bounds.

Here's something I'm proud of....

On a level playing field......
Blackburn Rovers 1 - 2 Burnley
Burnley promoted to the Premier League

Or if you prefer to look back into history, how about Burnley's complete and utter domination of Blackburn Rovers in the East Lanc's derby, with an incredible 10 league wins in 14 consecutive league games with 2 draws, all during a period when both clubs were on a level playing field financially and otherwise. A record never to be equalled and it is proudly held by Burnley FC. Look it up no-dad's its all there.

I would lay money that its more than Burnley have managed.

Despite being promoted they have sold just over 13,000 season tickets, only 500 took up the offer when they hike up the price to nearly £500 when the so called "early bird" offer closed.

Early bird in the fact that you had to buy your ST for next season long before last season was over.

Now they are reliant on "walk ins" to top home support up to a paltry 17,500.

Who can blame them though, ripped off by their Board, no investment in the club, ground or facilities, no-one of any note will sign for them, even championship players hungry for PL status are turning them down.

And the best of all? The idiot troll comes on here in it's multitude of identities criticising and laughing at us.

* Blackburn have a larger season ticket sales and attendances for over 70 years
* Our current owners, which have been poor but are greatly improving, have invested more in the club in 4 years than yours have in 10
* yes you beat us on 9th March.... first time in 35 years, "I believe the saying one swallow doesn't make a spring" aka one win means nothing!!
* Blackburn have a great chance of promotion.
* Burnley will be relegated, and its going to be great watching you get smashed week in week out, its going to be great to watch Ings, Heaton, Shackell, Tripper all leave you when you do.

" oh and then there is the small matter of the £100million cash advantage you had over us... LOL" Now its your turn, you keep saying that the Dingles have £120m this season to spend,so you will be winning the P.L,you will be buying world known international stars, playing in the Champions Cup,winning the Worthington Cup(or its new name),spending the next 11 years in the P.L. I think not, first signings,Sordell,Tay
lor,Gilks, none wanted by their clubs and 2 of them free. Wonder where the money will be going. We will give you the two fingers as we change places next season.

Given we've sold 30 %more than ' this time last year ' I would think it's safe to say that we'll probably end up selling 30% more by kick off time..That would be around the 16,000 mark, not counting the walk on's. I have a sneaky feeling that we'll top your gates again old chap

But as you remind us ad nauseam you have fluked your way into the PL next season, yet despite this you have only sold just over 13,000?

That is absolutely appalling, especially as 13,000 were forced to buy ST's before the end of February or face massive price hikes, I believe that only around 500 idiots have done just that.

Rovers sold around 12,000 ST's around this time last season following two seasons of complete and utter turmoil.

As the bulk of Rovers Season Tickets didn't have to be purchased until the 1st July if you wanted your own seat then it stands to reason that the bulk of Rovers fans who had ST's last season have renewed by that date. I bought ours mid June.

And it's always the same date every year.

So, a 30% increase on, say 12,000 is another 3,600, the maths are pretty easy.

We are in the Championship, you are in the PL for one, brief, painful season, who is the bigger, better supported club?

Egg on face time "Chuck".

*Blackburn have larger attendances and season tickets in 70 years* Whoah, really? I suggest you check your stats son, in fact I am embarrassed for you for typing that rubbish, certainly since the 80's and then the onset of Fat Jack fair enough, but prior to that we were outperforming you on and off the pitch for the best part of 50 years.

Nice to see you praising the Venkys though, too many Blackburn gimps criticise the guys that are basically keeping your club going.

Oh and ALWAYS is one word you dunce.

Enjoy Division Two kids and make sure you watch us on MOTD surprising people and going under the radar.

More trophies, more derby wins, more goals, record victories, highest ever attendance, more higher average attendances. FACTS.

I make that Blackburn 6-0 Burnley.

But at least you managed one win in nearly 4 decades - oh and smashed up some urinals. What a class act.
The reason urinals were smashed was because they all go so excited they were frantically trying to bum each other and it got out of hand

It would be good if our near neighbours would add some comment or insight from their lofty, and hopsfully temporary, perch but straight forward gloating is all they can offer which is fair enough as I suppose our fans probably similarly visit their stories to do similar. I wouldn't know as I don't have the time or the inclination to constantly read stories about anyone else's team.

One win in three and a half decades and two seasons in the top division during the same period and suddenly they are bigger and better than us. And all it took was the complete, systematic destruction of Blackburn Rovers, including the sale of any player of value, the appointment of complete nobodies in footballing terms, the alienation of half our fan base, some of the worst financial decisions seen at any club ever and the worst Rovers team in many peoples living memory......go you

Well said Gaz, the improvements we saw last season were enough to give Rovers fans realistic hope that this season could see promotion. Those who actually watch the matches could see the team growing in confidence as the season went on and the increased support will help.

And the best of all? The idiot troll comes on here in it's multitude of identities criticising and laughing at us.

History changes and ours will change very quick when we pass you on the way up haha. So COYB and show these dingle freaks how a proper club does things....
And if by "HOW A PROPER CLUB DOES THINGS" you mean spunking as much money away as you can on journeymen and no marks who have royally shafted you then spunking away even more to crow bar them off the payroll, sink further past your scrawny necks in debt as every month passes, run head first into the brick wall of FFP and generally show yourselves up as the most embarrassing worst run club in modern history then yeah, carry on showing us how it's done.

Oh and while you're on a role maybe you can ask somebody to teach you how to spell properly.
The standard of no-dad degenerate is slipping to new depths nowadays.

Sadly the Dingles won't be getting anything near £120 million, it's all smoke and mirrors.

They can take out a loan of up to 25% of potential earnings next season, they don't appear to have done that.

Then the directors will want their cut after all the "investment" they have made in the club, just like last time they were in the PL,

And didn't they sign more directors than players last season? Especially towards the end when the previous deserters flooded (pun intended) back for another financial killing.

Then the players will want PL salaries, that's why Bryson stayed at Derby, they made him a better offer, and Ings will be off to Newcastle shortly.

That's why they are signing Championship standard reserves and injury prone has beens.

They will get a set amount for every place they finish in, so bottom will be the minimum amount. The rest is based on TV appearances but lets be brutally honest, if they can only muster 13,000 known fans to buy season tickets they aren't going to be on TV much are they?

The remainder will be in the form of parachute payments.

Don't get me wrong they will earn a fair whack for their "Season in the Sun", but nothing like £120 million.

Oh, and I forgot the taxman.

facts are as follows:

* Blackburn have a more successful history than Burnley
* you will ALWAYS be the smaller club not matter what leagues we are in,

ALL WAYS IN OUR SHADOW
*Blackburn have a great chance of promotion* If you mean in a 1 in 24 chance like everyone else does I suppose you are correct other than that - no chance
*Burnley will be relegated* Didn't you say that LAST year, 93 points later and can you remember what happened?

As for the 'Can't wait to watch you on MOTD' That really is The WORST BANTER EVER, honestly give it a rest, you are embarrassing yourself as bad as your team does.

More trophies, more derby wins, more goals, record victories, highest ever attendance, more higher average attendances. FACTS.

I make that Blackburn 6-0 Burnley.

Yes indeed... 11 games unbeaten in...... 34 years? And if I'm not mistaken we didn't play you goons for 29 of those years.... oh and then there is the small matter of the £100million cash advantage you had over us... LOL

Great news, I have been as upset as anyone else with the situation at Ewood , but it's time to move on and back the team.
and about time too, lol. like yourself l too decided to back the club for the good of the club not the owners but when you look at the money we are losing you have to see the it from both sides,,without the Venky,s financial support we could very easily be in administration and that does not bear thinking about.
