DICKSON Etuhu has left Blackburn Rovers by mutual agreement.
The midfielder, one of the club's biggest earners, had two years remaining on the four-year contract he signed after joining Rovers in a reported £1.5m move from Fulham in August 2012.
Etuhu's two seasons at Ewood Park were plagued by injury.
The 32-year-old Nigeria international made just 24 appearances for the club, scoring one goal.
A Rovers statement read: "The club thanks Dickson for his work and dedication during his time at Ewood Park and wishes him all the best for the future."
Last month Rovers paid off striker David Goodwillie.
At the end of last season Goodwillie, Etuhu, Leon Best, DJ Campbell, Jordan Slew and Alex Marrow were placed on the transfer list.
It is understood Rovers are exploring the possibility of coming to further financial settlements with players who are no longer part of boss Gary Bowyer's plans.
