Blackburn Rovers sign striker Chris Brown from Doncaster

This Is Lancashire: Chris Brown against Burnley Chris Brown against Burnley

BLACKBURN Rovers have completed the signing of Doncaster striker Chris Brown on a free transfer.

The 29-year-old has put pen to paper on a two-year deal with Rovers and becomes the club’s first signing of the summer.

Brown, who will soon be joined at the club by Luke Varney after his contract from Leeds United expires, said: “I’m delighted.

“As soon as I heard of Gary Bowyer’s interest I just wanted to get it done as soon as possible, to get playing, to get back to training and to meet my new team-mates.

“I’m delighted to have signed.”

Brown was named Doncaster’s player of the year last season after scoring nine goals in 43 appearances.

The 6ft 3in targetman had one year remaining on his contract at the League One new boys.

But the contract contained a relegation clause, meaning he has been allowed to leave for nothing.

Brown, who counts Sunderland, Norwich City and Preston North End among his former clubs, has signed a two-year contract with Rovers.

But his weekly wage is less than £10,000 per week, the figure quoted by new Doncaster owner John Ryan last week.

Did you read the article it states Varney WILL be signing once his contract expires which from what I have read is believed to be the end of June.

Yeah...I can't go on about FFP either as it seems they're getting their squad in order before any transfer embargo, even if it should happen.Brown seems a solid Championship player and if he got a run looks like he could net 15-20 which would be good enough. Will keep Gestede on his toes who could do even better. Just a RB/CH to come.

It pleases me no end that I cause this particular no-dad such acute mental anguish that he doesn't know what to do with himself.

The defeat to Burnley was one thing, our promotion was another, but having Burnley fans laugh at him is simply too much. The straw that broke the chickens back if you will.

This rampant sociopath is borderline demented with jealousy as the Clarets prepare for a bright future in the top flight whilst Blackburn Rovers have only misery and financial embarrassment to look forward to, before the inevitable departure of the Venky's and administration follow, like the runs after a dodgy curry.

I predict he will continue to embarrass himself on this forum for the foreseeable future given the time and effort he has expended thus far in his multi-account obsession and utter fixation with Burnley FC.

Ps. if you want increase this poor tormented retards suffering you simply have to type the following, it makes him cry....

To be perfectly honest here, from one claret to another, Norwich would be better off approaching Ings. They would get him for 2 million and even though he isn't as good as Rhodes, he would probably get 15 to 20 goals with the far superior Norwich side around him instead of our pound shop moneyball misfits

On the one hand, Norwich can afford and have long admired Rhodes and you can no longer afford to keep him, whilst on the other, if Rhodes stays and Ings moves onto a bigger club, then we can just come in and take Rhodes from you ourselves.

The funny thing is that doesn't work both ways any more, us being the Premier League club. Funny really init. So I guess your point is irrelevant and further highlights your immense jealousy.

Just the type of player we need. Opposition defences were having it too easy at times last year when Rhodes was struggling to hit the net. This lad should give them something to think about. Looking forward to Conway and Marshall getting the crosses in to him. Not forgetting Rudy, lots of options to change things around now if someone is injured or loses form.
Good buisness too, player of the year and free. With better players around him I think he could better his goals return also.

Wen are you going to learn Dingle Dave?

Your type of obvious xenophobia is sickening. Hating Venkys is one thing, hating on every thing that comes out of a club you claim to be a "fan" of is derisable at best and obvious xenophobia at worst.

Remembering that there are decent people working hard to get our club back on its feet within difficult constraints makes your constant negativity all the more suspect.

Simple way to interpret that.

Burnley were 4th favourites to be relegated but finished 2nd.

Rovers are 9th favourires to be promoted, therefore we will be promoted just after Christmas; roughly a couple of weeks after the doomed denizens of Turd Moor will be relegated.

Oh the irony when that happens, not if.

That's why Ings won't sign, for a dingle he isn't stupid, he knows that relegation will seriously damage his reputation, he's just waiting for the right offer to come in.

There again if he hangs on for one more season he can walk away for nowt, makes it easier to get a better club if no transfer fee is involved.

Even Jay Rod is praying he can be fit enough to play against you in December, just think, he could score the goal that sends you down.

Never mind, at least your directors will make a financial killing.

People change Dave, you were probably a decent human being once, look at you now.

I don't really know why you are so concerned, you are no longer a fan, you obviously don't go to Ewood because the vast majority of signings GB has made have been excellent, and he has cleared out an awful lot of dross, that he inherited.

You obviously view the world through rear view mirrors, is that why you are always so angry? Must hurt running into brick walls all the time. :-)

Blackburn Rovers are NINTH favourites for promotion from the Championship this time around, the bookies are therefore predicting you to have an even worse season that last time..... oh dear.[/p]
Never mind, at least your directors will make a financial killing.[/p]
gypsy rosie nick with his 'ONE' crystal ball - and not all that good at that either! And as for me running into brick walls you cant resist commenting on my posts - I seem to remember you saying you would make no further reply to any comment I made - getting under your skin comes to mind maybe because my posts are more to the point than seeing everything through blue and white tinted underpants!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!! What a self opinionated pratt you are - never mind me running into brick walls your right up the cul de sac of your own ar$e!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OUT WITH THE COWBOYS AND INDIANS[/p]
Hate to inflate your ego Dave but I was just poking a stick in a couple of holes to see what crawled out. Wasn't disappointed. BTW, If I had a crystal ball I would be a billionaire and would own Rovers by now; you are so sad you can't spot a bit of banter when you see it, those blinding headaches must be terrible.[/p]
would like to poke a stick up an hole myself but would nt get it in because as I said your head is already up there!!!! Each to his own sexual proclivities, personally I prefer the female gender but whatever rocks your own personal boat I suppose.
