It's a good opportunity for King to test his progress against top players. Norway have only called up twenty-two players for these friendlies against two World Cup-bound teams, France and Russia, and King is one of only three forwards in the squad. Hopefully a good showing will instill a hunger in him to tear the rest of the Championship a 'new one' next season.

When asked about his contract situation the other days, he replied that he wasn’t sure, but 'he wasn’t going to play in the championship for ever'. I think his primary concern should be to actually play and perform well, then worry about where to play later!

That said, we’ve seen glimpses of what he’s capable of, but still nothing that will have premiership clubs come knocking. Hopefully he’ll stay fit and help us in our push for promotion.

"He wasn't going to play in the Championship forever"
Who does he think he is? He's done nothing yet to show he can play in the Prem. In fact he's done nothing apart from being able to run fast. He needs to knuckle down and listen to Bowyer, become a good reliable squad member, then perhaps he could become a regular member of the first team.
To me he had contributed little so far.

Super-Carrot is a Rovers obsessive. He is aware of the Rovers news before most Rovers fans and has his witty repostes lined up as the 1st contributor in all instances. I suspect he is either:
a) Steve Kean or
b) Jerome Anderson
Either way SC can you please get your own team to support or get a job to keep you away from this site for a bit each day. I doubt many Rovers fans could name more than 2 or 3 B***ley players and yet you have comments to make on every story on here. Catch up with the times pal, you are better than us now so there is no need to be so obsessive with us, ubnless you are a closet fan. You are a classic case of he who protests just too much.

I used to get really excited every time he came on the pitch. He's a bit like Rochina in that he looks amazing on the ball, looks very promising but his end product is zilch.

I'd love to see both these players come good but the reality is we don't have the luxury of waiting for them to come good. Out of the two though, King looks the most likely to improve and maybe an international friendly mightvgive him that opportunity, but I agree he has a lot to prove.

To be fair the manager hasn't got any Premier League experience and so far in a large part has relied on Howe's past aquisitions with some good fortune on injuries. £12M investment. Like lambs to the slaughter.

Fair point, I was trying to be generous, finding anything of PL quality in the land that time forgot is a challenge, but I think the ginger one has done enough to deserve to be there.
