BLACKBURN Rovers have named an unchanged team for their must-win final match of the season at home to Wigan Athletic today (12.15pm).
But Rovers can welcome back the David Dunn and Jason Lowe on to a substitutes’ bench which does not include Ben Marshall.
The fit-again Marshall, out for more than three months with ankle ligament damage, had hoped to be named in Rovers’ matchday squad.
Wigan, who secured their play-off place with a 1-0 victory at relegation-threatened Birmingham City on Tuesday, have made seven changes.
The Latics’ win over Birmingham leaves Rovers as rank 100-1 outsiders to join them in the top six.
To make the play-offs Gary Bowyer’s eighth-placed side have to beat fifth-placed Wigan and hope that sixth-placed Reading lose at home to promoted Burnley and seventh-placed Brighton & Hove Albion lose away to Nottingham Forest.
And if that was not hard enough, Rovers must also overturn a seven-goal swing on Reading.
Rovers: Robinson, Keane, Hanley, Kilgallon, Olsson, King, Evans, Cairney, Conway, Gestede, Rhodes. Subs: Eastwood, Lowe, Dunn, Varney, Williamson, Taylor, Feeney.
Wigan: Carson, Kiernan, Ramis, Caldwell, Crainey, Collison, Espinoza, McEachran, McClean, Maynard, Waghorn. Subs: Al Habsi, Holgersson, Maloney, McManaman, Beausejour, Barnett, Fortune.
