Blackburn Rovers under 17s player Scott Wharton is making a recovery after fracturing his skull against Dinamo Minsk during the Spartak Cup.

Wharton, who like his father John is a talented cricketer with Ribblesdale League outfit Salesbury, spent the night in hospital in Moscow after sustaining the injury.
