THERE is no doubt the draw at home to Yeovil and the draw away to Sheffield Wednesday were disappointing results.

They could prove costly.

But Blackburn deserve credit for bouncing back with a really good win at Birmingham.

It’s a win that’s given them a chance, maybe only a small one, but a chance all the same of getting into the play-offs with two games of the season to play.

And I have to say, given what happened last season, I would have taken that at the start of this season.

It’s not surprised me how well Gary Bowyer has turned it around. It’s amazed me.

Last season Blackburn had three different managers and players who didn’t look like they wanted to be there. They had no chance. No chance at all.

On the field now it’s much better. They’ve got a settled team and a settled manager and players who know what they’re doing and who want to do well for the club.

Whether all that will that be enough to get Blackburn into play-offs this season, I don’t know.

But all they can do is win their final two games and hope results go their way.

If those results don’t go their way, and they don’t get in the play-offs, at least they will have finished the season on a high with two more wins.

And that will give themselves a bit of confidence and the fans a bit of confidence going into next season because to go 12 games unbeaten in this division would be something not to be sniffed at.

Blackburn are already 10 games unbeaten and while they have dropped points in that run, it is still a good achievement as it’s such a tight division with some good teams in it.

A big part of Blackburn’s unbeaten run has been the form and goals of Rudy Gestede.

And the good news is, at 25, there’s still more to come from him – and from Jordan Rhodes.

They’ve got 34 goals between them for the season now and he’s really beginning to take the weight off Jordan’s shoulders.

You’re always going to get a time when one of your strikers isn’t scoring so hopefully the other will get the goals.

But when they’re both scoring, like Rudy and Jordan are at the moment, it’s brilliant. Here’s hoping they continue at The Valley tomorrow.
