MATCHDAY LIVE: Blackburn Rovers v Yeovil Town

This live event has finished

Latest

  • Rovers 0-0 Yeovil FT

4:50pm

FULL-TIME Rovers 0 Yeovil 0.

4:47pm

Rovers have three minutes to find a winner.

4:28pm

Second sub for Rovers, Josh King on, Craig Conway off.

4:22pm

David Dunn on for Roevrs, Lee Williamson off. Inspiration needed.

4:15pm

Tom Lawrence cuts in from the left and sees an effort deflect a few yards for Yeovil.

4:13pm

Liam Davis drags wide for Yeovil from the edge of the box after being set up by Tom Lawrence.

4:01pm

Second half under way. No changes for either side.

4:00pm

3:46pm

HALF-TIME Rovers 0 Yeovil 0.

3:40pm

Jorda Rhodes sends header over from Jason Lowe cross. Again, should havve hit the target.

3:36pm

Attendance is 14,353 (347 away).

3:33pm

Rovers forced into a change as Tommy Spurr - their only player to start every league game this season - goes off injured to be replaced by Corry Evans. Jason Lowe moves to right-back, Michael Keane to centre-back to partner Grant Hanley, with Matt Kilgallon switching to left-back.

3:24pm

Chance for Yeovil after Tommy Spurr got back to deny James Hayter a scoring chance, Joe Ralls dragged wide from inside the area. Should have done much better.

3:23pm

Good chance Rovers, captain Grant Hanley unmarked and heading wide a Craig Conway corner.

3:12pm

Well-worked move involving Jason Lowe, Michael Keane, Lee Williamson and Michael Keane ends with Craig Conway crossing deep to the back post where Jordan Rhodes nodded wide. Perhaps should have done better.

3:04pm

And having just said that, Jason Lowe fires a 30-yard daisy-cutter against the Yeovil post. Keeper thought it was going wide.

3:03pm

Nearly four minutes gone, not a chance of note.

2:56pm

The teams are out at what is a sun-kissed Ewood Park.

2:45pm

2:36pm

The teams in full are...

Rovers: Robinson, Keane, Hanley, Kilgallon, Spurr, Cairney, Lowe, Williamson, Conway, Rhodes, Gestede. Subs: Eastwood, Kane, King, Dunn, Varney, Feeney, Evans.

Yeovil: Stech, Ayling, Webster, Duffy, McAllister, Edwards, Palazuelos, Ralls, Davis, Lawrence, Hayter. Subs: Dunn, Dawson, Hoskins, Foley, Lanzoni, Grant, Ofori-Twumasi.

2:36pm

Rock-bottom Yeovil, who are five points adrift of safety ahead of their first competitive encounter at Ewood Park, make one change as Liam Davis replaces the injured Kieffer Moore.

2:35pm

Rovers have named an unchanged team for the third game running for this afternoon's Championship home clash with relegation-threatened Yeovil Town.

But Rovers, who are four points off the play-offs with four matches to play, are able to name fit-again midfield duo David Dunn and Corry Evans on their bench.

When i see williamson and Lowe in midfield i always feel rovers are playing with the handbrake on, they suck out all the speed and creativity from the team, when you are at home at the bottom in the league, you need to allow your quality players them to express themselves and get the game started on the front foot.

Who in their right mind wants to go up when we have a dis-jointed team like this. Absolutely clueless, particularly in centre-mid - and it is plain to see in our results. The players must be on a jolly tonight because they were not interested in winning today.
*
There again, GB does not know his best team or where to play some of them. I see Best scored again today, no doubt by somebody b-s telling him he was a great player and had the ability to go all the way. In other words, man management, Gary.

I haven't posted on here for a while as I can't be bothered with the Burnley fans. I am afraid to say that while Bowyer may have steadied the ship he will not take Rovers up as long as I live. The tactical decisions or should I say complete lack off are staggering. The whole crowd new we needed to change things today and all he does as he does every match is stand talking to his couple of mates and then occasionally clapping. I am afraid to say it but for me he needs to go. We need a manager next season that will take a chance and try and win games. We could be playing till next week and not scored today. That is against a Yeovil team that I think is just about one of the worst sides I have ever seen.

GB's post match quotes from BBC Sport website:
"Three more games of sheer excitement and twists for the fans.
It is going to be entertaining. Our aim is to play Wigan on the last day with something to play for."

Personally, I find that statement after today's showing actually an insult to the paying supporters. They'll vote with their feet.

Why, when it was obvious Yeovil would never score, did we not take a chance and push men forward?
Not being the sharpest knife in the drawer, could some of the Rovers fans explain to me why the sprinklers were put on just before kick off, and again at half time, was it tactics?
