Rovers v Ipswich...what the papers say

This Is Lancashire: Rovers v Ipswich...what the papers say Rovers v Ipswich...what the papers say

Rovers beat Ipswish on Saturday, here is a selection of the national newspaper views...

Jordan Rhodes gave the watching Roy Keane a personal reminder of the talent he once allowed to slip away. Republic of Ireland assistant boss Keane was in charge of Ipswich when he sold the strike to Huddersfield.

Daily Star Sunday

Jordan Rhodes notched up his 50th league goal for Blackburn – against the club that first let him go for £750,000. The Scotland striker delivered a deadly blow before strike partner Rudy Gestede made sure of the job.

The Sun on Sunday

Blackburn boss Gary Bowyer struggled to find the superlatives to describe striker Jordan Rhodes. Rudy Gestede scored the second but it was Rhodes’ 50th league goal for the club that had Bowyer purring.

A good win, but as everyone says too little too late. The last 4 draws in games when we were in winning positions is very frustrating.

I don't agree with those who say Rovers aren't good enough to be in the play-offs, all the reasons for not reaching a play off place have been well documented on these pages, but there are a lot of ordinary teams in the play off places, none of them any better than Rovers.

I am still backing GB to learn from his mistakes and challenge for promotion next year, but I still believe we should have been in the play off places this year.

Unfortunately I can't go to any more matches this year being the best part of a 1000 miles away, instead having to rely on snippets of information and the occasional internet image, thanks to those who post sensible reports on the matches, important for us Rovers fans abroad.

You're delusion and arrogance is quite literally staggering.

Ordinary teams in the play offs, none of them any better than Rovers? Really? Is that why they are in play off positions and you're still sat festering in mid table?

And if you still can't see why you're not good enough to be in a playoff spot then it's time to turn the lights out and have a little lay down.

No-dad delusion. Priceless.

Delusion? Arrogance?
Nah, just a fan supporting his side. No more arrogant than say YOU on here two weeks ago saying you were going to beat Leicester and go on to take the title...yes you did
Delusional arrogance is alive and well and living in Burnley

On a good day we look good enough, but we can't expect consistent good days with a team in flux. We've done huge re-engineering of the team and can look forward to, hopefully, seeing a settled side next season - that should lay the foundation for consistency.

Pearson came in for stick from Leicester fans last season but they stuck with him. GB can expect the same: some stick from some fans and a board that sees the value of stability.

Am also grateful for those who post with their reports/views.
