The FA has been advised by its membership committee to reject Hull City’s plan to change their name to Hull Tigers - and that has led to immediate celebrations from fans of the club.
But does a change of name really matter? After all Hull’s badge features a tiger and that’s their nickname.
The fans may be pretty much against the proposed switch yet they were all very happy to see the money of owner Assem Allam invested.
It’s his club and he should be able to do what he wants - and many clubs have changed names over the years.
