Alnoomaas can deservedly return to the winner’s enclosure in the Ladbrokes Mobile Handicap at Lingfield.

Luke Dace’s five-year-old has not hit the mark for well over a year, but his all-weather form this winter has been pretty reliable.

The gelded son of Oasis Dream has been a regular presence over the last few months, with three placed finishes since the start of the year.

His last outing in a six-furlong handicap at Kempton also suggested his time is near.

Despite racing from a wide berth, Alnoomaas enjoyed the application of first-time blinkers to take third place behind Invigilator and Sweet Talking Guy.

He was, however, caught a little flat-footed once the pace lifted close home, which might explain Dace’s decision to go back over seven furlongs with him.

A mark of 65 remains 4lb lower than when he last won a race at Kempton in January 2013.

Alpha Delta Whisky could go well at a chunky price in the Compare Bookmakers At bookmakers.co.uk Handicap.

John Gallagher’s six-year-old has not been sighted since finishing down the field in a Nottingham sprint last October, but he often excels as a fresh horse.

His all-weather form is pretty stout, too, as he has won two races from four starts on the Kempton Polytrack.

Alpha Delta Whisky has had a pretty chequered past - he can often ruin his chance leaving the gates - but there will be few horses in this line-up who possess the same shift of gear.

Assuming he is fit and fired up, the gelded son of Intikhab could thrive in the hands of Tom Queally.

Supporting Trafalgar Rock in the Goffs London Sale Median Auction Maiden Stakes can pay handsome dividends at Kempton.

The three-year-old colt, trained by Mark Johnston, has made stealthy progress in three runs this winter and revelled in the step up to a mile and a half earlier this month at Wolverhampton.

Long Lunch can come good in the Brandon Hire Group Novices’ Hurdle at Warwick.

Trainer Charlie Longsdon rates this one quite highly, considering him sharp enough to run in a Grade Two at Ascot following a maiden hurdle success at Plumpton in October.

Although he fell three out, Long Lunch was right in contention and looked booked to give Irving a reasonable run for his money.

Since then he suffered a bad defeat at Southwell when second behind Anay Turge at short odds.

The ground was awful in Nottinghamshire that day, though, which was perhaps a significant factor behind his demise.

It would be folly to play down his ability on that run, especially with the ground at Warwick riding much quicker.

Defeat would leave Longsdon in a bit of a quandary for the rest of the season.

Rumble Of Thunder can strike in the Molson Coors Winning Team Handicap Hurdle at Haydock.

Trainer Phil Kirby has done a good job with this eight-year-old, who has won six races over hurdles, including when a two-length scorer at Musselburgh on his penultimate start.

He then gave the well-regarded New Year’s Eve a race at Market Rasen last month, beaten three and a half lengths in a solid handicap hurdle.

Rumble Of Thunder has gone up another couple of pounds, but he is a pretty tough cookie and has won before off this same mark of 128.

Noble Legend was pulled up at Sandown earlier in the month, but all can be forgiven in the Impact Cleaning Handicap Chase.

A bad mistake led his downfall at the Esher circuit, but earlier in the season he had caught the eye with a cool victory at Wetherby and a game second at Leicester.

He must shoulder top weight on Merseyside, but this does not look a particularly competitive race on ground that will suit.

Noble Legend’s chasing record of seven wins from 17 starts makes impressive reading.
