We all know how big this game is, says Blackburn Rovers star David Dunn

DERBY talisman David Dunn insists every Blackburn Rovers player know the importance of extending the club’s proud unbeaten run over their bitter rivals Burnley tomorrow.

And Dunn, who has scored three goals in his last three East Lancashire derbies, knows that a victory over the second-placed Clarets could be just what Rovers need to put their season back on track.

“Everyone is aware of what the record means to the fans so I’m sure the manager and the coaching staff will be drilling that home in the next couple of days,” said the 34-year-old, who is hopeful of being fit after missing last Saturday’s 4-0 defeat at Bolton Wanderers.

“The record is something the players should be proud of and we want to keep that going.

“But more than anything it is three points and a home game we can get something out of.

“The most important thing is to get a win on the board and push for those play-offs like we keep saying.”

Rovers are now six points behind the top six after suffering their biggest league defeat of the campaign.

Burnley, in contrast, are now five points clear of third place after they stretched their run without league defeat to 11 matches with a vital 2-0 victory over automatic promotion rivals Derby County.

Dunn said: “There’s quite a lot at stake.

“If they get a win they will carry on their run of form, which has been excellent of late, and likewise if we get a win it will hopefully kick start us and push us into the last play-off spot.”

But Dunn accepts that Rovers will have to play a lot better than they did against Bolton.

He said: “I’m a big Blackburn fans but you’ve got to give credit where it’s due, Burnley are doing well.

“But we’ve been bubbling away quite nicely ourselves until last weekend.

“That was a real kick in the backside for us and we’ve got to bounce back – and what better way than in a derby like this.

“But everyone is going to have to be at it and be at full strength.”

Dunn made an appearance at the club shop at Ewood Park yesterday.

He served behind the counter, signed autographs and posed for pictures to help promote his attempts to raise money for charity by raffling off the black boots he was wearing when he scored the dramatic equaliser in last season’s East Lancashire derby at Ewood.

Raffle tickets cost £10 with all proceeds to be split between three charities – HYPE of Blackburn, The John Bury Trust and Prostate Cancer UK.

The draw will be made at Rovers’ home game against Bournemouth on Wednesday.

Dunn said: “The boots are an important memento but what I’d get out of them wouldn’t mean as much giving someone locally something they need.”

Treacy isn't really a player we fear; very inconsistent and even you lot have loaned Treacy out wanting to get shut.

Almost all your goals have come from your front two. Keep them quiet and we are home and dry.

A lot of you lot reckon that you will come to Ewood and not just win, but thrash us. That might be a big mistake thinking that. Not many teams ever come to Ewood and thrash us, even Man City only just scraped a draw at Ewood.

Anyway just hope tomorrow's game lives up to the hype.

Perhaps Bolton's big win 5 1 at Leeds puts last weeks result into perspective. Any team can beat any other team on the day. We are due to hammer somebody perhaps as tradition dictates we will turn the expected draw into a hammering for Burnley. It would certainly be welcomed by the Rovers fans.

Oh dear, it's all going wrong for Blackburn Rovers at the worst possible time, on the eve of their biggest game in years.

Blackburn Rover's confidence is now shot to pieces after that 4-0 humiliation against Bolton. Rhodes is a shadow of his former self, there's panic about who's fit to play in defence, if anyone, and to top it all Gary Bowyer is once again hammering on the big red panic button and bringing in a fresh batch of no-mark journeymen.

Derby getting beat at home off Millwall has got the no-dads flustered knowing that they HAVE TO BEAT US AT ALL COSTS! However the final insult will come tomorrow when 4500 fanatical Clarets witness a derby win for the first time in years and more importantly secure another vital 3 points to go 8 points clear of Derby, effectively 9 points given our outrageous goal difference.

What a season this is turning out to be!

You clowns have wished injuries on us all season, you have wished suspensions on us, you have wished for our star players to be sold, you have wished for our manager to move on whenever a Premier League job became vacant, you have wished for floods, famines, and all manner of natural disasters to stop our incredible, and for you stomach churning, charge towards automatic promotion.

We have dominated you this season in every area and it hurts you so much you can only wish for a points deduction to stop us! Embarrassed for you pal.

You are laughable and desperate. A win tomorrow and we'll be thanking you for sending us on our way to an incredible Promotion, and I will NEVER EVER let Blackburn fans forget it.

And then the reality of Fair Play will really kick in, you idiots really haven't thought about it have you?

What Fair Play is really designed to do?

Clue - Manchester United are just about so sign a new shirt sponsorship deal worth £600,000,000 - that is just shirt sponsorship.

What is your income this season?

Not knocking it, if you do beat us today you are going to take some catching and I honestly hope you go up because you will deserve to, but some of you really do need to wake up and smell the coffee regarding "Fair Play"because it is anything but for clubs like ours.

We can't fill our stadiums, we can't charge exorbitant prices to fans or commercial sponsors, our fan base is parochial at best, in reality this derby means a massive amount to a relative handful of fans, the rest of the world basically doesn't know we exist.

We are a quaint little news item twice a season, nothing more.

Now think of Man U v Man C and the revenue they can pull in worldwide for just one game, millions if not billions of people watching world wide, many paying for the privilege

And that my friend is what Fair Play is all about.

But apart from that here's hoping for a great game today, may the best team win.

Now think of Man U v Man C and the revenue they can pull in worldwide for just one game, millions if not billions of people watching world wide, many paying for the privilege And that my friend is what Fair Play is all about. But apart from that here's hoping for a great game today, may the best team win. owd nick

4,500 Burnley fansare coming to watch the record books re written nd put this hodoo to bed once and for all. Twice as many asyou brought to the Turf, young and old to watch the Clarets cement a plce in the top 2. Read and weep, read and weep.
Didn't they do the same last season?

Remind me what the score was.
