HIGHLY-rated Chelsea youngster Nathan Ake will not be joining Wanderers on loan this season, The Bolton News understands.

Speculation in the national press linked the Whites with the 19-year-old who was voted the Blues’ Young Player of the Year last season.

Manager Dougie Freedman has made no secret of his search for cover on the left side of his defence following the injury to Marc Tierney in late September.

And last month a potential deal to sign Swedish youngster Mikael Dyrestam fell through at the 11th hour.

Ake would fit the bill as a potential target but sources in his native Netherlands believe he will remain at Stamford Bridge and part of the first-team picture.

Ake signed a new five-year contract last summer after making his Premier League debut in the final game of last season when Chelsea beat Everton 2-1.

This season, however, the Dutch Under-21 defender is yet to figure under Jose Mourinho and was linked with loan switches to Watford, Burnley and Wigan in January.

But it is believed there are no plans for Ake to leave on loan at present.
