BLACKBURN Rovers are believed to be close to signing Cardiff City winger Craig Conway.

The Lancashire Telegraph learned last night that Scotland international Conway, 28, is the wideman that Rovers boss Gary Bowyer wants.

And reports from north of the border this morning have suggested that Bowyer has got his man – on a permanent deal.

Conway, who made his name at Dundee United, has spent most of this season on loan at Brighton & Hove Albion and played in their 3-0 home win over Rovers on November 9.

Brighton were keen to re-sign Conway – who is out of contract in the summer – on loan.

But it appears he has set his sights on making the move to Ewood Park.

One player who could be on the way out of Rovers is their captain Scott Dann.

The centre-back is reported to be in talks with Premier League outfit Crystal Palace.

Rovers have not yet commented.

But earlier this week Bowyer said:  “There are clubs interested in Scott Dann.

“But until they meet the valuation that the club has got on him, and until that is put in writing to the club, it is pure speculation.”

Leeds United striker Luke Varney has made it clear he wants to join Rovers.
