Paul Wheelock's ratings:

Simon Eastwood 8: Blameless for Forest’s four goals, he saved from David Vaughan, Henri Lansbury – twice – and Jamie Mackie.

Adam Henley 5: Was given a torrid time by Jamie Paterson. Gave away the second penalty and his poor pass led to Forest’s fourth goal.

Scott Dann 6: Fit-again captain came off for the final 10 minutes after he was left writhing in agony following an off-the-ball challenge.

Grant Hanley 6: Was horrified to see a penalty awarded against him before having a spot-kick appeal of his own turned down.

Tommy Spurr 6: Endured a tough time up against Mackie but came as close as any Rovers player to equalising when he hit the post.

Jason Lowe 5: After a tireless shift against Manchester City not at his best and his poor pass nearly led to Lansbury scoring his third.

Lee Williamson 5: Like Lowe struggled to stop Forest’s midfielders from getting in behind him and taking shots at Eastwood’s goal.

Tom Cairney 7: Went close with a free kick, set-up Ben Marshall’s goal and it was from his deal-ball delivery that saw Spurr go close.

Chris Taylor 6: Never stopped running and should have been rewarded in the second half when he was seemingly pushed over in the box.

Ben Marshall 7: Continued his upturn in form with a brilliantly taken goal which gave Rovers hope when all appeared lost.

Rudy Gestede 5: Shot wide early on when he could have passed, the striker ploughed a lone furrow up front on his own.
