RIVAL managers Gary Bowyer and Paul Dickov joined a singer from the world’s biggest boy band in praising fit-again Paul Robinson for the vital role he played in Blackburn Rovers’ ‘massive’ 1-0 win over Doncaster.

Former England number one Robinson made a stunning injury-time double save to ensure Gary Bowyer’s play-off pushing side held on to the lead given to them by Rudy Gestede.

Rovers boss Bowyer said: “We were outstanding first half and should have been two or three up.

“The way we defended was magnificent and right at the death Robbo pulled off a world-class save.

“His experience is massive to us and he will just get better and better.”

Doncaster boss and former Rovers striker Dickov said: “Paul Robinson showed why he’s an England international with the two saves at the end.

“The first one was special – I’ve just seen it again and it was top class.

“The difference is we’ve made one mistake, and been punished, and Paul Robinson.”

Robinson also impressed One Direction star Louis Tomlinson who took advantage of a break from the multi-million selling group’s schedule to watch his beloved Doncaster in action at Ewood Park.

Tomlinson, left, said: “I think the second half was promising and we were really unlucky at the end.

“The Blackburn goalkeeper pulled out a great save.”
