Paul Wheelock’s ratings:
Simon Eastwood 5: Made a shocking error for the killer third Birmingham goal but did recover to make two saves, one of them superb.
Adam Henley 6: Young right-back got forward well in the first half when he did not have his hands full with the two-goal Lee Novak.
Scott Dann 6: Endured an uncomfortable afternoon against giant striker Nikola Zigic but set up Jordan Rhodes’ second goal.
Grant Hanley 5: Partially to blame for Chris Burke’s goal, he should have cleared his lines rather than putting Simon Eastwood under pressure.
Tommy Spurr 6: Found himself up against a very tricky customer in former Rangers winger Burke.
Jason Lowe 6: Had to cover a lot of ground in the second half after his midfield partner Lee Williamson was sacrificed.
Lee Williamson 5: Withdrawn at half-time as Rovers threw caution to the wind. Crossed when should have shot in the first half.
Tom Cairney 6: Created good first-half chances for Williamson and Rhodes in the final home game of his loan.
Ruben Rochina 6: Made a lively start and missed an excellent opportunity to score before fading in influence.
Ben Marshall 7: His fine cross created Rhodes’ second goal and with better shooting could have scored himself.
Jordan Rhodes 8: Just where would Rovers be without him? His second-half double gave his side hope when there appeared none.
