Who has been Blackburn Rovers’ best player so far this season and why?
THERE have been a number of impressive performances this year. Players who can retain possession while demonstrating defensive awareness are hard to come by, and Tom Cairney has done just that.
Scott Dann has been solid in defence and Jason Lowe has applied his usual work ethic but added more quality to his ball retention and decision making.
Josh King, who still needs to improve his final ball has also been a constant threat, but my player of the season has been Grant Hanley. He slipped up at Wigan, but has showed great composure, strength, speed and alertness.

WHILE Jordan Rhodes remains a model for any aspiring footballer, in effort, attitude and talent, Grant Hanley has been a colossus and Tom Cairney has brought a sublime touch, calm presence and range of passing not seen since Tuguay left.
And for someone whose career has hardly been glittering it took Tommy Spurr no time at all to become a firm fan favourite. I saw four shirts with his name on as early as Burnley away.

I AM not sure you can name one player in a season when the team has been so inconsistent.
No one individual really stands out though at least Jordan Rhodes scores goals.
The names of Tom Cairney and Tommy Spurr spring to mind for their character and attitude while some may point to Jason Lowe as an unsung hero.
David Dunn rarely lets us down but his injury nightmare continues so he’s difficult to nominate. It would be equally difficult to nominate the worst players and that in a nutshell explains our mid-table position.
