IN their first Cardiff Indoor Cricket League venture, Sully Spartans could not overcome winners Cardiff Casuals in the last – winner takes all – game and had to settle for the runners-up spot.

Chasing a total of 105, the Spartans started badly, with Krishna and Walli both caught without troubling the scorers. Howe and Morgan tried to overcome the poor start and rallied to 89, but came short in the end.

Casuals, who have not lost a all season, deserved the title The Spartans can concentrate on the outdoor season, with a home friendly at Burnham Avenue on Saturday, April 20, and three away games.

The Spartans start their first league campaign with two consecutive home games, the first on Saturday, May 4.

It would be nice if some of the players who played in the first Spartans game could come along. The Spartans also have a friendly Sunday team and have entered the midweek league.
